- With a lack of reviews on CZcams it is hard to know if Evil PS5 controllers are worth the $200+ price tag and 2+ week wait time. I am proud to say the remappable rear buttons, increased thumbstick tension, and overall fit and finish feel great. There are some issues that need to be mentioned including a poor warranty, missing cosmetic appearance options in the builder, and a time consuming way of mapping the rear buttons.

I will be making a follow on video with some additional thoughts, but I must mention how crappy it is the haptic feedback is removed from this controller anytime you have rear buttons.

The back buttons on the evil are tactile they are just very large that’s why the motors are removed. The one good thing is they are super heavy duty. Battle Beaver uses OMRON switches that are much much smaller so they can keep the motors but you can also damage the OMRON switches say if you rage squeeze your back buttons. :)
I love mine. I went with a stock controller but increased tension, master mod which I don’t use, and clicky trigger.
I bought an evil controller since I can only use my right hand and they're the only company I found that makes controllers for disabled people

For anyone stumbling on this,
I ordered an evil controller, the back button placement is pretty nice.
I tore the controller down. If you choose to do the same you will void the warranty.
Be wary of the cables running from the board to the back buttons, and the white cable for the touch pad. The white cable does not have very much slack.
The back buttons are hot-glued to the rearshell, over time, because of the resistance to hit the buttons, it will loosen and the buttons may sink into the back shell. If the warranty is out of spec, don't worry. Just heat up the glue, then re-apply some more hot glue to solidify it in place. I don't foresee any issues for a year or 2 after you start using it.
Thumbstick drift will probably happen because of alps modules. So, keep that in mind. It will be a headache to replace the thumbstick modules yourself because the cables for the back buttons don't have alot of slack. You can totally do it yourself, but you have to be extremely careful not to snap the cables.

I’m looking for a new controller, do you have any good quality trusted brands? I’ve had a cinch and it was pretty shitty and I’ve heard terrible things about scuff durability.
I'm getting an Xbox Series X Evil Controller with remappable shift buttons, "all black" face buttons and "17.8" twin concave sticks. And then, and then I'm gonna hitch one of those new "Retroflag Superpack" adapters to where its battery should go AND TURN IT INTO THE ULTIMATE WEAPON!!! Not to mention, I'm getting expedited shipping.
Ok I have had the evil controller for some time now and I find it to be really comfotable and the buttons work great really and I mean really impressed , if your willing to play craps getting a hold of custmer service go for it how ever if you get it and it has a problem from the get go well it then becomes more important that you can ge a hold of them.
Is the R3 button on the right stick sensitive when you push down? My battle beaver feels super sensitive which I hate

I have 2 Evil C. 1ps4 1ps5 my ps5 had drift problems i e- mailed them they sent me a shipping label done they are fixing it free of charge. I did not buy warranty. I sent my ps4 in at 11 months because the left trigger stated firing on its own because it was within 12 months I paid for shipping they fixed controller free of charge. Just thought I'd throw that in for you. I recommend this Evil controller.. thx for the review.

Iv bought 3 controllers from evil, a ps4 that lasted forever till I got a ps5 and sold it. The. I got one from evils first batch of ps5 out the box it had a slight drift, I blew some air into it and it fixed it for awhile. The drift came back every once and while and some air would fix it. The. I tried to clean the controller 1 time and I messed up 2 of the back buttons. I still have it my daughter uses it to play iPad games. My 3rd controller from the. Was a ps5 with a little more customization. Iv had it for about a year now and it’s been fine, but I’m about to get a new one because I feel it’s life span is coming to an end. Iv also had a razr, aim, multiple scuf controllers and the Astro controller. Evil is my favorite just because the paddle placement, but I still have an aim controller that I bought inbetween my 1st and 2nd ps5 controller because, faster shipping. The aim is nice I just don’t like the spider type paddles.

Honestly, I would really love to have a battle beaver or scuf reflex. But seeing that I’m about as impatient as a 5 year old I don’t want to wait 12-14 weeks for the BB or have to see how long it takes for scuf to send me an email they have more in stock. Do you think this would be a good controller to buy as a replacement for those two?

I ordered one of these Evil's last week, after my 3rd BBC; I can't wait until 2023 this time. If BBC had reasonable build/shipping times I would NEVER buy from any other custom builder. But they just can't seem to get their shit together over there..? And then they cop an attitude when you call or email after 8 MONTHS and ask them what the fkn hold up is.
BB have beaver boost which gets your controller in 5-7 business days for $35. They offer 10 boost M-F at 11am. They are harder to get than a PS5 but there is a video on CZcams on how to get the boost and place the order quickly. I used it on my last BB took 3 tries but on the 3rd day I was able to add the boost. Well worth it since BB is now a 12-16 week wait.
@@sobrien8478 I'm aware of "Beaver Boost" but I would never support the way they go about offering it to their customers, by paying for it. Now if they were ethical about it and offered it to everyone or even if they offered it exclusively to returning customers or those furthest back in their queue, I'd be willing to pay them triple their current "BeaverBoost" asking price... But that's not the case. And because they disrespect their customers and make it a lottery system, they can keep it. It's actually ironic you brought that up, because that^^^ option in particular and the way thier company has gone about selling it, was/is the thing that really pushed me to look elsewhere for a comparable product. I don't see those kinds of ethics being part of a sustainable business model. But what do I know?..
@@buddylee19082 when I spoke with Matt at BB 2/28 they said they have 6500 orders in their system.. so they just can’t keep up.. their goal late last year for early 2022 was to get down to 4 week delivery times.. Now they are 12-16 weeks. Boost income is used to pay the employees that want overtime and most of those Boost builds are when the employees are working overtime. They are growing to quick and don’t have the techs to build quick enough. I used evil controllers last year for my build and they did a great job and purchased the warranty 2 years covers anything that happens besides abusing it. It also give be 1/2 off my next controller build when I trade this one in. Haven’t had any issues at all with the evil. My BB’s always end up with stick drift and I end up purchasing the thumbsticks from BB and soldering in the replacements myself.
@@sobrien8478 I did the same thing. I’ve had it going on 2 years now! Zero issues with it. I also got it when they had a side grip modification. I don’t think they offer it anymore unfortunately.
Hello just want to get this out there we don't use all the same parts as extremerate parts I make my own buttons and shells don't come from extremerate u customize my on oem shells with mouse click triggers not extremerate ones that break I do use there paddles those but I also have my own custom buttons the mouse click triggers are real mouse housing inside mouses so the toggle I don't use cheap ones I use professional ones not like those black button caps that you will lose or that go out really easy I use the toggles like extremerate uses just not there the toggles that are yellow with caps that don't come off and we can mod your controller with up to 6 extra buttons and with the extremerate paddle 10 buttons that's 2 remap kits one for buttons one for set l1 r3 and other 4 paddle for well that's extremerate paddles everything else like clear shells man we get our own for buttons wise anyone can buy extremerate or scuf buttons they sell those separately not that hard for leds I use extremerate for the front face different thumbsticks because there's break and goes bad I use Bluetooth kits for the leds with 2x battery's so people can't say my battery dies so for designs we can do any design on Etsy Custommodz921 and we can do any other job out there that anyone else has done like the guy below there all extremerate parts so what's new there but I do Customs and any theme and all extremerate designs if people like hex, battle beaver,mega modz...we can make any rapidfire controller with extension thumbsticks paddles rapidfire and smart triggers not extremerate one extra buttons the Ultimate Pro Controller with 2x battery's we even sell just 2x battery's so anyone needing a custom design let us know we are ready to start

My brand new custom controller from Evil broke within 1 hour. Since then i have had nothing but trouble with their customer support. it has been 4 weeks and i still have not gotten my controller back.
This company does definitely not get any recommendation.

I have 2 and the first one I bought the gold warranty. 2nd I got the silver. I’ve never had to send them back. They actually made a free swap out for me when I wanted to switch my hairpin triggers to tactile and swap the shift buttons for paddles. They were pleasant as well. Sorry you had trouble.

I stopped buying since they dont offer paddles on there ps5 controllers.
You won’t see any reviews on these controllers cause they fail in like 2months. I ordered one last year and with in a month the right trigger stopped working sent it back got it back one week later and used for 1 hour the left trigger stopped working sent it back again one week later played with it for a day and then stick drift was horrible didn’t eve have to touch the controller and my guy was doing a full 360. Sent it back and got my money back.
Any modded dual sense controller is going to be a waste of money stick drift is going to happen as long as they are using oem stick modules.
Better going through extreme rate and building the controller yourself. It’s easy and you can just buy new controller and transfer everything over to a new one.
One thing to note is that you cant use the evil ps5 controller on the actual ps5, it tries to make you update the dualsense controller when you plug it in, but to my understanding there is no battery. So you cant even use this on the ps5 because of the update issue

Do not buy this controller , the customer service is horrible , Evil never called back when I had a problem I made two appointments as they dont call back. I sat by the phone for a day no call back. Dont buy this Evil controller run thier customer service sucks , I doubt they would ever call back and they just wish you would go away!
Evil Controllers are trash 🗑️🗑️🗑️, I sent them a controller back after they had "fixed" the stick drift... Because it came back with my stick drift then when I sent it. Terrible customer service they don't honor their warranty. Don't buy and Evil Controller you will regret it, just like me.
