The most difficult aerobatic schedules are flown, specially developed for this event which takes place every 2 years.
10 judges, 5 invited from Full Size Judges panel and 5 from Model Aerobatics judging are measuring the quality of these competitors.
A Model flying field was specially built for these competitions at a cost of 1 Million US Dollar by the owner of Circus Circus.
This video presentation is missing the first day of this event because the recorded Sony video 8 tapes have gone missing.
I have recorded 3 TOC competition before , one from 1988 is at my channel listed.
The Irish competitor John Beasley and Capt Joe Dible where helpful in the recording of this event.
A third party in Lab Ireland kindly digitalised my Video hi8 recordings
Thank You to them!
Hoping you like my CZcams ScaleJetFred Channel , Fred

What a fantastic video! Most of the planes are Bob Godfrey kits. I had the same Bob Godfrey Ultimate 10-300 kit with the exact same Red, White & Blue Color scheme. I still own a 40% & 27% Godfrey Extra 300 today. BEST FLYING PLANES EVER BUILT!!!!!
Thank you for the visit to my channel with mainly R/C related videos! You are correct about the models flown at that event.
Have fun with your Extra's 300 from Bob Goodfrey.
I am more a Scale flyer, I never had the accuracy and skill to fly aerobatics. Most of my colleges here still do.
This was not my first TOC, twice before but I recorded only the 1988 event.
@@ScaleJetFred -Awesome!! I love scale flying my self. Check out my channel. I am restoring my late Grandfathers 1946 J-3 Cub. 😁👍🏼

Was that the year Hanno broke his arm?
No saito! Thanks for your visit to my channel.
I know because I had close contact with Hanno then. He was prevented to compete 1979 in the F3A World Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa.
I was the Irish F3A Team Manager for that event.
!990, to my knowledge, Hanno was disqualified from the TOC for, what he disputed, a size difference of his new plane to the TOC specifications!
I visited and spoke to Hanno many times in his home because I had a suppliere located in Klagenfurt, his home town.
Greetings from Dublin Ireland,
Fred
@@ScaleJetFred was the disqualification from the TOC was a right decision? was the plane really not right ??
Hanno broke his Arm shortly before the 1979 World Champs in Johannesburg, South Afrika
