I've had 2 sets of the Steelcraft 5" oval tube bars. Each set lasted only 2 years because the internal nuts for the mounting brackets on the bottom of the bars, rusted out after only 2 years. Steelcraft replaced them once, but after the second set rusted out, they said "sorry but we can't help you". I had even purchased the optional stainless steel hardware & brackets. The nuts welded to the inside of the bars, for the mounting bolts, aren't stainless steel. I'll never buy a Steelcraft product again.
I'll never purchase from CarID again. Their customer service was horrible. My 6" steps came with cosmetic damage. I didn't notice until I had already mounted the brackets. I left the steps in their protective plastic and bubble wrap up til it was time to install on the brackets. I called customer service and ended up speaking with a manager. The manager stopped me while I was explaining my issue, as if she was having an "ah ha" moment , to inform me that I was out of warranty because I had already mounted the items. She said I was being recorded and that I was on tape admitting to my guilt. Who does that? I hadn't installed the steps. Where is customer service? Buyer beware
Seems like nerf bars could last way longer if there was a hole or two on the underside with plugs so you can release any water that might creep inside from the top or ends
I have a 2005 Ford F 350 Super Duty Lariat Crew Cab Dually and the running boards that came with it measures 85 by 6.5 inches but now I want something longer that measures up to 110 inches which will extend from the front to the rear beyond the rear doors to the edge of the rear tire fenders. Is this type available and what is the rough idea of the price quoting with one of the regular brands.
