    And if I remember correctly, Winning doesn't sponsor athletes. As such, when you see some champion using their gloves, they're doing so because that's what they chose--and paid for--for themselves.

    The only real issue I found with Winning gloves is how hard/impossible it became to use any other brand once I used them. I have owned from grant to Reyes and everything in between. Nothing performs and protects like Winning. Although I will say that for me the average shock absorption life span of these gloves has consistently been no longer than 1.5 years. They loosen up pretty quick when used 3-4 times a week and the pain starts to set in lol. Great video as always brotha!

    • @nomathic7672

      They really only last 1.5 years? That’s a shame considering the price

      @Mr40Smith Před 2 lety +5

      Nomathic That’s just specially for me though, they might last much longer for you depending on your weight/frequency of use. I’m 210lbs and use them 3-5 times a week exclusively on a 150lb bag. I’ve never seen longer than 1.5 years but I doubt they would be as popular as they are if everyone had that experience.

      @@Mr40Smith Are there any gloves that have lasted longer for you? I'm considering winning but would like to get more than 1.5 years out of them. I'd be using them under similar conditions (I'm 175lbs solid power 4/wk dense 150lbs pbs bag work only).

    • @Mr40Smith
      @Mr40Smith Před 2 lety +3

      @@user-nm1hc2my6w I think Reyes have a longer life overall. They’re not as soft and take a while to break in, but because of that they also breakdown much slower and should last you at least 3 years. At your weight I would use their 12-14oz gloves, but also be aware that Reyes are known for being heavier than what they’re marked. In other words, the 12oz gloves weigh closer to 14oz, and they’ll feel like it as well lol. Good luck and let me know how you make out!

      @@Mr40Smith Thanks for the advice! I actually tried cletos a few days ago. I got them in 12oz. Left was 14.6; right 15.9oz. I really liked the protection, feedback, and snugness of the hand compartment and cuff, but the weight being that far off is a deal breaker for me.

      @@timonidas4534 Canelo did actually use Winning in the first GGG fight. However, they're not considered a "Punchers" glove, which is why most fighters tend to opt for brands such as Cleto Reyes or Grant in actual bouts. When Pacquiao fought Erik Morales, he was wearing Winning gloves and he complained that they felt like pillows. Winning gloves have great durability and hand protection, which is why most fighters like to use them in training and sparring, but they do lessen the impact of your punches, which isn't exactly what you want in a proper bout when the objective is to beat your opponent. Not to mention that Winning don't sponsor fighters either, which is another factor as to why you don't often see them in pro bouts.

    I never liked my winnings boxing glove. For me the 2 killers are the bar in the middle that I never felt confortable with and the angle of the hand. The glove is angle so that it is difficult to to land straight on the knugle (at least it is for my hands) and I get really hurt when I hit the heavy bag. I think maybe my hands are too big for those asian gloves 😅

    • @expertboxing
      @expertboxing  Před 4 dny

      Hmmm, what size glove are you wearing? Winning gloves are made for sparring anyway (and have plenty of room in the pocket). For bag gloves, you probably prefer more the rolled-up Mexican gloves.
