From the amazing Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album, released in December 1973.
One of my favorite Sabbath songs ever, from one of my top three favorite Sabbath albums. Tuning on this song is pretty much C# standard, like the entire record, with very minor variations. I adjusted this one -7 cents for tuning accuracy to C#. There's a lot of effected stuff going on in the solo section - I tried to play the most audible notes, with a little delay and boost added.
I'm doing these cover videos purely for my own enjoyment - while I wait for the world to chill and the music biz to come back fully to begin the next phase of my upcoming planned project. Thought I'd share for anyone interested. I figure them out by ear, so any mistakes are solely my own. I think they're mostly right. Cheers.

Beautiful work. Not many people seem to know this, but this legendary track penned by one Bassist Geezer Butler is about sperm. Yeah, the sperm not used in the creation of life. Butler is a lyrical genius. And he must have been high as fuck. A 1973 masterpiece.
I do believe that's the first time I've heard that one! Geez's lyrics often left themselves open to the interpretation of the listener - so brilliant!!

Perhaps I shouldn't call that par tremolo picking. It is just really fast picking, at least for me. It starts at 6:01 in your video and continues for 8-measures. I just can't seem to get it up to speed and am not sure I have the rhythm correct either. I'd been working on that part a month before I found your video and I'm still not getting it. Aaargh!

Thanks very much! This is one of those where Tony laid down multiple leads doing different things simultaneously - which he did a lot. So I try to playthe more prominent part if possible. Or listen to what he does live, but on every live version of this I've heard, he's doing something completely different. I think he liked to improvise live quite a bit. Cheers!

Shit! So sorry - somehow I failed to reply to your question and comment in a timely fashion. I'm a dumbass, lol. But I dunno, really. I could be wrong, but I don't think they ever played it live in the early days when this was released. I think they may have rolled it out during one of the more recent reunion tours, but I don't have a specific recollection of that, either. Pity - such a great song; would LOVE to hear a live version. That's a very early Michael Kelly, now called "The Patriot" I guess. Got it from an old dear friend, who bought a number of them direct from Kelly himself - via Ebay I think - way before they became production line guitars. I can't find much info on it or the configuration, but it plays and sounds amazing! And sorry for delayed reply. Been offline a minute. Cheers!
