13:21 an honour to be mentioned ❤️ thanks!
Great talk. I think the new generation needs more discussions like this one where we get to know how are the things done at your level because for us it's "the dream". Of course that the effort, the nights spent on doing what you love is part of the process, but from my perspective there is a lot room for improvement and listen to the "big ones" stories.
Keep up the good work 🤙🏽
Genre is changing the world
Thank you putting this together! Cheers
Loved this. Thanks for putting this out Francis!
I appreciate the comment saying “supporting artist that look like the genre”. As a Native Egyptian artist, I always had trouble fitting in and seeing mainly Europeans taking over the stages and whatever sound is trending made me feel like there isn’t room for someone that looks like me when in reality like my man stated its all coming from us in Africa. S/o to all my African brothers trying to do this! Also don’t overlook the talent we have in Egypt as I heard you mentioned other places in NA yet Egypt has so much talent.
I also agree with what nitefreak about labels, they definitely have all the power to push the sound, its so easy for these labels to play it safe and put out a very similar sound instead of being open to whats out there, especially when its coming from a different background, my afro house will not sound the same as say someone from SA since Egypt has a totally different culture influence etc so be mindful of that and allow us to create freely and not be boxed just to get noticed. All this stuff just hinders our progress. Bless and thanks for a great conversation!
Hit me up! Send me demos via my IG 🫡

All the heads in one place 🙌🏽🔥💯 I really enjoyed this conversation it’s really interesting and very informative thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you Francis for this! I am also a new Jamaican afrohouse producer/dj, wish I was there to connect with the Jamaican guy!
I would sample Jamaican music if I was from Jamaica, and that guy's Jamaican accent is beautiful
too sweet❤❤❤❤
Awesome interview👏👏👏
I see shimza☺☺
informative 🎚️🎛️🔌
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
afro house is the future, I see it mainstream in 5 years
40:44 my favorite afro tech dj/producer showed up Dj Shimza. I want to be on his label Kunye
Sbonge 🙌🏾
41:18 Is that Shimza in the background?😅
I hope we don't end up in a situation were people only stick the same background to different vocals like it happened in many other house branches (maybe latino house?)
Its already happening m8, crazy amount of mainstream afro remixes. Some good some ehh
i dont like the way they label a lot of songs that they call afro house sound too much like just latin house Now Afro Tech is africa!
A discussion of Afro House but not a single South African DJ/Producer on the panel?
Shimza could answer, maybe he was not available for it when they were planning
@@djshockafrica4330 So Shimza is the only person fromSouth Africa they should have included?
