I didn’t find anything, but it was amazing how it didn’t pick up the great amount of trash and masses of hot rocks. Hey Gary, thanks for these great videos. I have had my D2 for about a month and with your instruction and just hands on experience, it has been a sheer joy to use. Definitely a lot to still experiment with and learn, but I feel my learning curve has been a steep one. I think that since I am coming from an Excalibur II, I don't have to unlearn any habits/interfaces from using full screen detectors.

    Hy Gary, again great video and again a professional approach to detector description. It is technically perfect, and describes the characteristics of the detector as if you were designing it. Great demonstration of functions and perfect description of the initial settings. But there is one thing ..... wouldn't it be better if the manufacturer showed how its detector works and what properties it has in the field ??? wouldn't it be great if XP showed what its settings are and what are the algorithms for detecting different targets in different environments ???? than to try to discover what the manufacturer has programmed into the detector ??? it still seems to me like discovering an alien technology that shows us something, it behaves somehow, but we still can't use its potential, because we're just groping for the settings and programs that the XP masters have cursed into the perfect product. Invite XP authors to the field .... to explain for yourself what and how it does. DEUS II is definitely a very sophisticated project and I'm sure it will open the door to great finds for many, but why on earth do we just have to look blindfolded for what and how the detector tells us ??? With respect and thanks for your work ... VAC

  • @oldplucker1
    @oldplucker1 Před 2 lety +2

    👍 I can’t see the clock on screen. The time should ideally be constantly displayed and we should be able to set alarms. The dig organisers get upset if we run over time. And we can’t hear the end of dig, bells or horns because we have headphones on and quite a few of us have hearing problems. No watches because they interfere when we are trying to find finds in soil and our phones are OFF to eliminate interference.
    A vibrate alarm option would be great too.

    My main question is, is that it for the Deus 1 users?
    Being a low paid care worker I thought the Deus 1 was my best option as it was updatable and could evolve, as it will probably be many years before I can afford to upgrade to the 2 my biggest concern is that D1 users will be quickly forgotten about.

    If I read the manual correctly it says once you shut off the remote all the changes return to factory settings. Does that mean you have to copy onto the custom programs if you want to keep any changes ? Thanks , newbie to the Deus.

    Gary, thanks so much for all your great videos. Do you know when the Deus 2 will be shipped to US distributors? I’m going beach detecting December 24th, really hoping for them to arrive before then? Thanks

      Hi Jerry
      Sales is not my thing, but I would imagine very soon as some US "influencers" have them.

    Hey Gary, quick question. It appears to me (after browsing through the XP Deus II User Manual) that the design of the headphone adapter clip has not changed. I'm assume that this would allow those of us who have been using ChefPhones or Grey Ghost headphones to be able to slide the WS6 puck right onto our existing WS4 clips on our old headphones and they should work. Am I right ??

    • @The-skillschool
      @The-skillschool  Před 2 lety +1

      The clip will still fit But you won't get the full XP experience with converted ear defender headphones.

      @DukeOBass Před 2 lety

      @@The-skillschool I have the original Chefphones. I would assume that they should work without any problem.

    Hi! I have a question about bottle caps! If you activate the filter (1-5), do you have compromises that you have to live with? (Depth performance, fade out, etc)

    Greetings, because when I do grounding in the multifrequency modes with discrimination at -6.4, when the pumping is finished it makes the adjustment and the detector stops beeping the ground but once I release the button and go back to search mode it continues beeping as if it weren't it would have been done...........in monofrequency mode if it does it correctly...is it a fault in the ground connection??

    When I slect the RC speaker, my WS6 headphones still come on automatically. So I have to turn them off manually. Is that how they are supposed to work?

    My menu looks like this:
    1: freq shift
    2: iron volume
    3: reactivity
    4: audio resperation
    5: discri
    6: sensitivity
    I dont have frequency or any other options like bottle caps. Any ideas?

    15:00 says everything. I understand what he meant, it's the same thing like with equinox, you get dodgy sound on nails etc with all those multi freq machines. he suggests to skip these dodgy sounds (skip nails and skip targets which are worth digging but sounds dodgy) and go for clear sounds. I guess deus 1 is still better.

    Gary, I got my Deus 2, took it out to a really tough site I test every detector because we’ve hunted it for 40 years, and the EMI is the worst I’ve ever encountered in 47 years of detecting. The few targets left are also deep, some I’ve measured with pinpointer 14”. I got the 11” coil so may be worse affect from EMI? PROBLEM ; I tried every SMF program and very erratic, it seems in the mono that’s around 25 it was better but still not great? The only thing I didn’t try was offsets of each frequency. I’m reaching out to see If I could send you a short video next time I go? Just an FYI, the CTX 3030 is the best modern detector I’ve tested here, noise canceling you can run between 27-30 (max) sensitivity and dig 58 caliber bullets to 14”. I just took an explorer SE there recently and could also run pretty high sensitivity. I love Deus and hope with feedback they can tweak thing to get better?

    • @The-skillschool
      @The-skillschool  Před 2 lety

      Sounds like mono with an offset will be the only way to go.

      Thanks Gary, I’ll give it a try. Weather got too hot to relic hunt for me, now dipping back down at night. Can’t wait to get it out in a quiet area and crank it up

      Gary, I need some new, non EMI places. I went to 2 more old pounded sites today. Pulled 5 Minnie balls from those 2, walked 2.3 miles getting them. Question; the last site was just overhead but main power lines. These must be much more offensive than the neighborhood ones? Same here, no SMF would run stable, used mono, think it was around 13? CHALLENGE; I was getting false signals from the ground that sounded like a target, dug some GHOST SIGNALS, (UGH!). My old 3.2 Deus one, never did this. I’ll keep at it as long as cool weather holds out, really excited to get it to the beaches, thanks
