- Hawk Rival Micro Hang On Tree stand In this weeks video I try out the new hawk rival micro hang on, This stand was available for a decent price right around $200.00 It literally took me minutes to find out that I have a serious issue with this stand.
I put in the thumbnail junk... Well its 100% junk in my opinion.
Seems like Hawk is gonna have another quality issue.

Platform is solid, its not a terrible stand for presets but you cant even assemble it cause its so out of spec. Its a waste of money IMO

I agree, I’ve tried a couple of there products, had a step kick out on me several times. Had to make our own mods to make it safe!
Thats crazy... kick outs are very scary too, specially at height!!

Unreal that is now a $200 stand. Just last year I got the Novix Echo and Helo for less than $200.

Hawk has gone down hill fast. I had a few stands back in the day, and i loved them. Caught one on sale a few years back. Decided to grab it. When i got it. The metal mesh on the seat was all broken up. I’m going to assume because of packaging. one of the metal tabs from something probably smashed into it. Causing the metal to break.
yes, when hawk sold out to china they became junk.
Right away, the lack of quality is apparent with the stand. I bought the XOP Vanish EVO for my first mobile stand and I love it so far. The price was similar and the quality is much better. Hope your season is going well J!

I figured it would be i been waiting on this review i got guys from my group asking me about it , im gonna post your video in the group so the guys can watch and get a feel of what they will be getting , i don't get why hawk doesn't hire a damn real life deer hunter to help them , all of us don't hunt like Michael waddell on private food plots in kansas some of us walk 4-5 miles every hunt then get close to the deer and have to use a ratchet strap to blow the whole hunt how stupid are they , I'd rather hunt on the ground than to run everything off and that seat should have been longer for sure another swing and a miss for hawk i wouldn't even use it for a preset stand those 40$ Walmart specials are the best and your not gonna ever out do Novix or even XOP

Midway USA has the stand and 4 sticks combo for $250, I don’t have mobile hunting system so I’m thinking this might be a good move for me.
Damn that bracket is a horrible issue I wanted this to be a halfway decent stand but that’s more than likely a deal breaker
I think this stand is junk. Id pass.
That deal is now like 215. I was going to get it but maybe I won’t after this. It’s so incredibly cheap but not worth falling.
I have a Millenium M7 which is almost the same except this one has a leveling platform. I don’t think Hawk, Muddy and Millenium really care about how a stand should be made. . It’s not rocket science to make a treestand that is lightweight, easy to hang and has features such as a leveling seat and platform. The platform for example which is the same as a Millenium,, those two points of contact are terrible on a tree that has uneven bark. I understand that most people don’t have the money for a LWCG or Beast stand but companies such as Hawk Millenium and Muddy should be able to design better stands.
I agree, they seem to be confused what the market wants right now. I think guys want small lightweight stands that u can be mobile with, that dont have ratchet straps for the attachment method and can be hung on a variety of tree diameters. They missed the ball on all this IMO
My first thought was it looked like an M7. Millenium makes their bang on boat seats, ladder stands, and big leave in hang-ons. Things like the m7 are an afterthought and is simply at attempt to cash in on a market with their mesh seat style. They aren't going to put the R&D into it because they have so much invested in their bracket hanging systems
I've gotten more than 1 with missing/broken parts from them!

Hawk has hit or miss reputation. I find the last few years they have a nice affordable option or junk.

It’s tempting to buy this since it comes with 4 sticks for 220$ at midway(no refunds lol) But the brackets not fitting makes we wonder a about safety.

@@MichiganGreatOutdoors haha. Well from what I can see, I only find the stand on midway, comes with 4 helium sticks for total 220$. And has a no refund policy. Seems like they discontinued it and are dumping it with some sticks just to get rid of them.
I just bought it off amazon. We’ll see how bad it is lol.

I got one last week. Put it together today and everything fit correctly.
Everything about it screams “garbage”. Just watching the video you can see the sorry excuse for what they consider “welds”. The bracket and platform “V” look like a bad joke. I have NO idea how Hawk manages to do the volume of sales they do or how they managed to get into big box outdoor stores. I have the sticks, and they are what they are, but I never buy any of their other products. Hell, they try to copy what others have innovated and they STILL get it wrong.

Just a gorilla treestand with updated seat definitely minimal design work.
