Mrs Brown was the head at my children’s school and I can honestly say that without her my son would have had a more miserable experience and not been as happy as he is now. I remember sitting in her office and crying (not something I like to do in public!) because I was so lost. Her kindness and understanding helped me through a really low time when even my family were blaming me for my son’s behaviour and I was being labelled a bad parent, and my son a “bad kid”. She never gave up on him and his y6 teacher hasn’t either and I credit them both with his progress. Emily was a huge part of the reason that I (the absolute anti PTA mum) kickstarted a parents group to bring community back to the school with events and fundraising. My last meeting with her was so emotional for me as i truly feel she has had an enormous impact on my family by understanding my son, his needs and a wider family aspect. She called me “a great partner” at that meeting and I will always carry that, but she is and will always be a great leader. Thank you Mrs Brown!x
