  • In the cockroach world, the bigger they are, the easier they are to kill. Unfortunately, the smallest of the cockroach invaders, the German cockroach, is often the hardest to exterminate completely due to its rapid reproduction rate, adaptability, versatility, and cooperation required from the client. In this video, master technician Cardon Ellis show you how to treat effectively for German cockroaches.

    You could use only gel bait and a caulk gun, but It's a game of patience (takes two weeks or a month depending on the level of infestation), Get roach gel bait, dry all wet surfaces (sinks, floors, put sponges in zip lock bags) and put away all food (seal and refrigerate possible food surfaces, clean floors) to make the gel bait their only food source. After that, apply a pea sized amount of the gel bait on a napkin and place them near hard to reach places like next to electronics and wall sockets (or anywhere you see activity). At night, the roaches will come out and eat the bait, returning to the nest where they will die and spread the bait when others eat their dead body and or feces. In this time, seal up any cracks in the wall that roaches can use to hide, if you can't seal it, continue treatment in that area until they are all gone.
    Don't be afraid or discouraged when you begin seeing roaches in the day or more at night, this is good as you are destroying their homes and they are forced to look for new ones. Keep it up, don't let up.
    Replace the bait every two weeks or when all the bait has been eaten. REMEMBER to use TWO types of roach gel bait, because after a while, roaches will learn NOT to eat the same bait. Once they get used to the bait, switch gel bait formula. Also, place bait 5 inches apart and DO NOT apply the gel in large or long pieces, as roaches will only eat bait that is small enough for their mouths. Many people will complain that the gel bait they always have used, no longer works, this is because their roaches have learned not to eat it, SWITCH up formulas. I recommend alpine rotation 1 and 2. Once you see little to NO roach activity, day and night, continue mild treatment, only place gel baits in areas you know have had, or can have the most roach activity. Continue because there might still be eggs laying around and these can restart entire infestations. This how I solved MY roach problem.

    I work for Orkin, deal with this non stop. Very nice video. Didn’t go into sealing up inaccessible voids often found in kitchen cabinets etc, or using dusts if that’s not available, but this video is spot on. Including the chemical list.
    Here’s your list, use a non repellent residual (alpine wsg, phantom, tandem, temprid fx, etc) spray every area your food is not in contact with, baseboards, hell even along ceilings and ac vents if need be. Sometimes they might be in furniture, you can spray all non skin contact areas (also useful for bed bugs).
    Also mix with an IGR, or use an IGR separate whatever.
    Bait the hell out of the kitchen and bathroom and all known problem areas. Advion , Avert etc
    Use dusts in electronics and outlets areas if they are infested as well.
    Delta, cimexa, whatever.
    Use monitors like the video guy said, replace bi weekly / monthly if need be.
    A lot of time spray will run on walls and ceilings, in this case use an aerosol.

    I've lived in a 2-bedroom apartment for 20 years and started getting an infestation of roaches. Right now, I see them in my kitchen and bathroom, but I KNOW THEY'RE GOING TO BE GOING INTO ALL THE OTHER CARPETED ROOMS. The pest control company that my apartment complex sends sucks, that's why I'm trying to tackle this myself!
    I started using Advion gel baits, and it's working; however, I'm still seeing roaches and, what's worse, babies. I have 2 cats, so I place the bait in areas where the cats won't reach. I was going to purchase Temprid FX Insecticide spray to use in conjunction with the bait. Is spraying Temprid safe for cats and my family? I'd also appreciate any other advice. Thanks!

    • @bradleymorris4492
      @bradleymorris4492 Před 4 lety +2

      Kokopuffs Tolbert Temprid combined with Tekko (an IGR) sprayed inside your Kitchen and bathroom cabinets as well as inside the back part of your fridge, behind stove will work well if you have your cat because the cat won’t be able to get there. Make sure the cabinets are completely cleared out, and draws. If you wish the spray the rest of your home, lock up or remove the cat for a minimum of two hours and spray where the base board touches the carpet. Make sure you always treat well where there is moisture and heat

    • @bradleymorris4492
      @bradleymorris4492 Před 4 lety

      Kokopuffs Tolbert another thing and it may sound weird but putting double sided tape along the base board as close to the carpet as you can (works better in areas without carpet will catch a lot of roaches, they primarily follow baseboards and edges of cabinets because they like the sides of their bodies touching something. Just replace the tape weekly or sooner depending on how dirty it gets

    Best is to use fogger repeatedly until you have diminished the size and then use the chalk that poisons them! Keep food and place clean and they will disappear!!

      To get rid of them put some bait in a large garbage bag with the computer for a week. To keep them from coming back throw away the computer.😉😉

    Get a paid sponsor and slowly say the names of the baits and traps or put them on the screen. Mention the clean up before and after, otherwise good job.
