    Thank you. I am sixty-one and bought my first Carrera Evolution set analog. I bought two accessories to go with it in October and I just found out today there are for the digital set. I was going to get an upgrade kit but after I thought about what you just said I may as well wait and just get a digital set for $375.00 or so (after christmas sale) and add the track to my analog set and be happy. All of the necessary items to upgrade the analog came out to right at three hundred dollars so I said to hell with that. Thanks again.

    Search your local buy and sell groups on social media. You can often find someone selling a set they bought for their kids and it is just gathering dust in a garage. This is a great way to expand your set for the cheapest price.

      Unless you live in a big city Carrera isn't exactly that popular. Believe me I searched a whole year on buy and sell groups with nothing to show for it.

    Long time HO guy @ 58 yrs. old. Built many HO layouts, so over the past 15 yrs. or so I've collected 2 Carrera sets ( analog ). After noticing that Carrera offers only 2 analog sets for 2021 I think I will get one more at the end of this year. Oh yeah, those sets are still in the box and not opened yet.....as yet I need a HOUSE soon !!!!! So at least whenever that happens I will be 'prepared' to build a Carrera layout of my dreams.

      The new Carrera evolution sets have improved controllers and a beginner mode. The new Evolution cars will also include lights. Waiting for the new sets might not be a bad idea.

    Since we are making jokes about old people, I think that your glasses are on backwards just like the box is.

    Stumbled on this video and channel because I was googling to find out if it made more sense to just buy a second set vs. trying to expand a la carte. My first set is a used digital 124 I got off eBay. Haven't set it up yet, but the cars look pretty beat. Track looks good. My question is... if I'm going to expand by buying a new set, should I go for a new Digital 132 or a Digital 124? I'm not sure if the mix of wired/wireless controllers are going to be an issue or if it's worth forking over a couple hundred extra for wireless controllers + the curbing that seems to be needed for 124 cars. I feel like the 132 sets come with more track length but less shoulder and I'm not sure if it'll be an issue. Anyway, thanks ... enjoy your content and am subscribed.

      To answer your question generally the 1/24 sets have more track even if you didn't include the shoulders. You can use a maximum of 3 wired controllers with 3 wireless without an issue. I'd expand with the scale you plan to race the most with. If you want to be a 1/24 guy it doesn't make sense to get more 1/32 cars and vise versa.

    The only problem with getting another set is all your bends will be the same you will have no fast bends

    • @Sundayslotcars
      @Sundayslotcars  Před 2 lety

      Fair point. I do find buying another set is still cheaper. You can also sell your spare bends to get a pack of wider turns. Thanks for the comment!

    I ended up buying 2 sets of analog kits for the price of one. Going to use to expand a digital set I have on the way.
    Not sure if I should bother to sell those 4 cars or chip them.
    Pit and the crossover expansion are next.

      If you like the car you should check if there's a digital version. Some cars in sets can be out of print. A good example is Pink Pig from Double Victory. You can still order the set but not the car by itself anymore.

      @@PghMtbRides I should hope their North American distributor isn't ghosting everyone like he's ghosting me. I honestly have no idea what Scaleauto is doing for their North American customers. I don't really know anything and I certainly hope they can get their act together.

    Ur great! Just bought a double victory. What is good second set for track, controllers and cars. Do u have something, good price?

    • @Sundayslotcars
      @Sundayslotcars  Před 3 lety

      For sets you could go with a digital 1/32 set to be able to run both scales of cars or buy the new 1/24 set being released this year. I'd go with a second 1/24 set myself to get four cars and four wireless controllers.
      If you want to expand without buying another set Extension Set 3 isn't very expensive and comes with a variety of parts. If you want to browse our products you can here: Sunday-slot-cars.square.site

    I saw some distributor online that were making their own track sets, and selling them, but the tracks were two to four times as long in length as any official set you could buy. The longest I believe was around a hundred feet of track, and it came with six cars, and six controllers. Granted these sets were incredibly pricey. However, this was only for the Scalextric 1:24 track. I am curious if anybody knows of a distributor doing this for Carrera slot cars 1:24. If you come across any, please let me know, I would be incredibly grateful for any such knowledge.

      I believe the company you're thinking of is Hotslots. They retired years ago. We help people make custom Carrera tracks all the time. We have a lot of track to sell right now so feel free to send us a message over our facebook or instagram.

      That depends what type of course you'd like. I'd suggest getting wider radius curves (2/30, 3/30 and if you have the room 4/15) or bank curves 2/30 or higher (1/30 banked curve is to tight for most cars). Most courses are fine with two double lane changers so if you're buying another set get whatever has cars or controllers you want. I'll be doing a wired vs. wireless controller video next.

    Buy a 3d printer and make your own track

      If you factor in the hours of labor to do that I doubt it's cheaper.
