I look forward to every video. I've never been on a farm and live in the city but I think I must have been on a farm in a previous life because I love everything about it. I love how gentle most of your animals are. I guess itâs natural that they are territorial. I was hoping that Thomas could come out, oh well maybe at the other farm where there is more room.

Poor ole' Thomas needs a turkey resort at the 40. We have a couple ladies at church that get along like Scott and Thomas, but neither one has spurs thank the Lord. Some Sundays our pastor wishes he could put "instigator" in a cage....lol There's one in every group. Prayers for peace at the 40!

I was surprised that Chris was so hardheaded when Thomas was trying to move him away from his family.
Peacocks are great watchdogs but I understand why you want only one.

I keep looking at those silkies and wonder what the hype is all about. I like the traditional looking chickens. They don't make figurines of chickens that look like silkies.

For MaryCarl - Try swapping the milk crate in the layer house for a wooden box! Recent study in the UK shows chickens genetically prefer wooden boxes to any other material! I enjoy how knowledgeable MaryCarl is about her chickens. đ The silkies are so cute! Too bad Chris decided to be aggressive. The idea to have an area separated for Thomas and friends is a good one until you get moved. đŠ
Sometimes during molt, peacocks will make themselves scarce almost like they feel naked. They may perch in a tree and refuse to come down when anyone is around.
I'm so excited my daughter found a homestead a minister has close by. Told her if any of the kids want to come over and collect eggs or see the animals it would be fine. I think all kids can benefit from this and see where food is grown and where milk comes from. Thanks for sharing your story I just enjoy your channel.

When you finally lay hands on Scott to move him to the 40, you should take him to the vet and have his spurs taken off. It won't stop future fights, but it might just save another birds life.
I think that Scott needs to be caged and not poor old Thomas.
@@l.m.2404 For now, it has to do with how many male peacocks are on the farm.
I think they have at least three peacocks - Scott, Chris- who was fighting Thomas today, & I think one more. They're stronger than turkeys, too.
The other male turkeys are not fully mature, & aren't causing territorial problems with each other or the young male peacocks.
Penning Thomas is the best thing for him now. It's not permanent. It's not for punishment. It's for his safety.
@@carolynchadwick7867 seeing how easily Thomas and the girls went back into the enclosure shows how secure they feel in there. Turkeys are much more "delicate" than almost any other fowl, so keeping them kenneled for now is the best for everyone involved
You can do that with a Dremel..and everyone wears gloves..long gloves..!

Love being educated by Mary Carl and her different bird's. I have brown leg horns, easter eggers, Wyandotte, bantam silikies, and turkeys. And I have raised Rhode island reds. Animals come into breeding time the females and male each have a instinct to reproduce their own "line" to be one dominate. It's the same with males of other species want to be the same as moose, elk , dear, bears, cats like lion and tigers (om myđ) the smaller animals just on a smaller scale. So happy Thomas is still with us.

đ€đ€. I just realized how much MaryCarl has grown into a beautiful young lady. Sheâs lost her childlike features but still is so knowledgeable and loves to learn more about her feathered friends. Since you got sick Jason sheâs helped her momma and have become so much more mature. Hearing Brooke in background putting her foot down about breeding even more silkies was so funny. Scott with those long spurs will be a forever problem as we learned having 12 peacocks and hens roaming on our horse ranch. Two fought all the time and would fly everywhere landing in all the pepper and olive trees and loved the electric lines which would fry them and no power for days. Talons or not theyâd fight to the death and even fight the Tom turkeys too. When Scott calls out it sure brings back the memories and even all the tail feathers theyâd leave roosting by our bedroom. Definitely loud. Never can hurt to try but good that yâall can guide them back to their own pen. Love the daily chores and how ya speak to all the animals making them feel safe. Moving to the 40 will be interesting cus itâs like moving from a state park youâve created. Make sure ya draw your plans out and then when built try to frame the before and after. Sure looks great on a historic wall for generations to come as ya rub BenGay on those sore muscles and sit in a rocker remembering when ya created your forever home. Just like sharing these beautiful videos youâll want those memories to begin and end your days with and be so proud of all youâve created. đđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđ
