  • I took out the seats in my minivan and gave them away......I totally took everything out of my camper van, and I am starting over. This is Part 1 of the new no build BUILD.

Getting rid of the seats would be a tough decision for me. I'm sure it would hurt the resale value, however the space you gain is very impressive.

May be true but I plan to keep the van for a very long time.

    Good for you!
It is tough for me to make the commitment to get seats out and to not keep them.
It would provide so much more space AND save on all that extra weight!!!
I bet the fuel mileage will increase substantially!
    Thanks for the video ❤

Fuel mileage on the road is now about 27 miles per gallon.

@@vanladymarylou I have been getting 21-25 mpg lately depending on speed limits (almost always 70/75 mph I get 21 mpg)
If I take the seats out do you think it will make that much difference?
      Thanks so much!!!
Hope to see you out here sometime 😊

@@Kimberly-ul1ph honestly, I am not sure. I just know that on the road, I get about 3 miles per gallon more. in town, my mileage is under 20 and there was no change

I'm in a 2015 Chrysler van. I took the seats out, too. I've been living in it full time for over a year. I bolted a 200 watt solar panel directly into the roof. Considering a shower tube on the roof and a basin in the rear seat well.

Can the panels that cover the stowing go seats support any weight sense you removed the seats that go under those panels

What happened to part two of new van build? I saw the photos at the end of this video, so wonder if that's all there is. I had same van (had to sell) and will have again, so I'm looking at new ideas.
