Please support the people in your life - ask how they're doing. If you know someone who is a doctor, ask what they are doing to make life better for their colleagues, and the patients under them. I have personally known two physicians who took their own life, four patients who did shortly after seeing a doctor that missed their suicidality, and countless others who burn out because of institutional failures and the depression it breeds. Patients often stop seeing a good doctor who cares about them, because of being rushed through clinic (to make turnover quota) - probably millions. I shudder to think of the harm that comes simply from people who forget to be sensitive . . . while trying so hard to be effective. This video was made in part to draw a line between what is, and what ought to be...for all of us.

"Doesn't make sense"....I see a pattern. It's odd though, for me - - it does. Health is dead - because doctors aren't making people healthy....they're treating symptoms. Someone comes into the hospital, we make them well enough for discharge, and yes many lives are saved and diseases treated, but aren't there so many who we don't make any healthier? The rest....it's in there, the scripts instead of listening, or the money spent on gladhanding instead of saving....but maybe it's just me.
Hm - interesting point. So, I'm a doctor and that was a room full of mostly doctors, other healthcare workers, and a few surgeons. The room laughed because, I think, they agree with the point being made about egos - at least enough that it made sense to them. As for the part where we wouldn't tell people if we found a cure for cancer.....respectfully.....disagree ;-).

This is actually really true! Most doctors don't wanna treat anything unless it's an emergency because they know they'll lose you as a patient if you are cured and that's how they make their money. I came in for a cough that I have had in months but I got suckered into doing two more appointments because they wanted to make sure that it wasn't a blood thing.
I've had a small issue in my neck for about 7 months. I've had 3 appointments, nothing helped. I guessed that, after the 2nd appointment that it was for a reason. Then I was given the same thing that didn't help by the SAME doctor and I ended up figuring out that if they fixed it, I wouldn't have to come back and pay 60 dollars for it.

This feels like a mix of the former version by bo and a doctor's "first world problems",
That may be the reason why some people think "it doesnt make sense".
And it is just natural for it to be so,
Art is like a completely made up and decision based "addiction" , whenst medicine is quite a natural need for all, that has a nonetheless scientific, rational base.
So, to simplify or perhaps summarize, to some people this song sounds like " imma doctor oh we are so bad all we want is money fuck us, we are barely helping them", but they already know that most doctors start off with the will to cure people, help save lives...
"Ego" is always a problem, for all occupations, and highlighting the one of the doctors by a doctor just doesnt give the "goosebumps" expected from a "ranting" song.
And again, this song is probably a great memory for you and other people there to remember.
It just feels fake to the internet :)
Doctors dont run around shouting as they were kids, artists do :/
