There was an ocean liner of the same name launched by Nazi Germany, it was stuck in Japan during WWII and was converted into an escort carrier by the IJN after the Japanese purchased it from Germany, the ship was sunk by a spread of torpedos from the USS Spadefish which detonated her Avgas reserves.
