I used a small jump ring, even a small split ring. They work quite nicely too. Making a few of these but having a hard time finding the large marbles. Thanks for the tutorial. You teach real good!
THANK YOU!!! I have been searching for a Tutorial for this net out here for weeks. I found many but NONE had good lighting, audible and clarity on how to make the Net. Blessings to you.
I don’t see or knot or anything so I thought ‘ I will get frustrated trying to do that!’ Nope- you explained and showed it so well it was easy to understand. Thanks!!!
I have a 30 year collection of antic and newer marbles. Some really interesting ones out there. I have them on display for their beauty and antiquity. The problem is when children see them their eyes grow as big as marbles and they just cant help but run their hands through them and picking up hands full and listening to them rain down, which leaves me with chipped marbles. Your awesome idea has me thinking these could make great Christmas ornaments bulbs, they would be beautiful and protected. Thx 4 the great idea!
Thank you Sharon that looks very doable. I can see why you used the two colors of thread for the demo. It was much easier to see. They do look very cute.
Thanks so much for your excellent directions and tutorial, Sharon! I used very small marbles but was able to easily adjust to my project. Will post to your Page upon completion. Thanks again!
Oh that's awesome! I actually was just thinking of this video yesterday, I plan to re-film it and upload it to my other channel. I think it might happen in the next month or so.. but I'm glad you were able to use this video and get some made! When you do post a photo, post it to my new fb pag. I'm looking forward to seeing what you made! facebook.com/wherethegnomeslive
Thank u for yr great video. I didn't have any wire but I had some tiny jewellery split rings handy. I think u do get better the more times you try this. Thanks again. REGARDS Shirley M
Hello sweetie I love those ..those are gorgeous but I was thinking maybe you can start off with a lanyard knot... it was a lot easier for me instead of using the ring..but overall I love your project thank you for sharing
Hi! Thank you for sharing this tutorial & the clear instructions. Is there a "formula" to figure out how long the side strings should be, I want to make one like a christmas ball. Thank you for sharing 🌞
you can use a needle or a pin to move the knots to where you want them, just make the knot around the needle or pin, then pull the needle or pin out of the knot & make tight. I have used this for years

If you're near the ocean you can usually find them for sale pretty cheaply.
Usually around $5.00.

+Carole Borden thanks for the tip!
you are quite welcome, thanks for the video...
Thanks ! Yours are super cute!
Nice idea for making pendants
thank you, nice project.
Very well explained
How lovely x
Can this be done on a bigger scale, with thicker cord or rope...
+1000000000 LIKES :D Genius
Hmm wonder if a ring of tatting (which originated with fishing knits) would work then I could skip the wire and glue...
Thank you! I cant wait to try this!
It's really nice
Wonderful.
can you use embroidery thread for this craft? i want to make it with pure white thread
SUPER !!! OK.
How do you know how long your strings need to be? I have 14" floats?
sorry, I don't know. 14 inches is quite a bit bigger than these marble sized ones.
I love these!!! Do you sell them?
thank you! I don't sell anything but thanks for asking :)
I actually made those and I actually used them for my art dolls
cool
Yeah looks so much easier with a stand
great Tutorial... hey I can imagine you would be able to do this without the ring? Just start differently ?
I haven't tried it w/o the ring so I couldn't say, sorry
Nice

My magpie brain must have a small dragons hoard of them
