    Fantastic to hear the great songs of Alan Hull (plus a few others) still being performed so well, some 50+ years after they were written. Thanks to all involved for performing, promoting and posting on here. Brings back great memories for an old folk=rocker!

    I was there, great gig. My first gig after nearly 2 years of lockdown. Fantastic performance, very worthy headliners.

      I was there too. That question of Rod's, "What kept you?", was answered by a woman behind me: "We weren't BORN!". That performance of one of my favourite ever songs, 'Winter Song', was a stand-out for that weekend.

    I am not very knowledgeable about this band but at least the quality of this production (compared to earlier) should make the band proud for an everlasting legacy of brilliance and brotherhood. Ageless. Thank you.

    Love that 12 string Guild. Anyone know what model it is.

    • @bertfrantic
      @bertfrantic Před rokem +1

      Wish I knew, but it looks very similar to the 12 string Guild jumbo that I've seen Brian May use. My guess would be a Guild F-412. Great sounding guitar though.

  • @olliebeak131

    How can this be Lindisfarne with only Clements from the original? A tribute band at best...

    • @andrewknight4999
      @andrewknight4999 Před rokem +5

      It's not the same Newcastle United as it was in 1972 either! Sure, Hully and Si are gone, the two Rays are doing other things, but there is a direct link to the original band (Rod) and a few indirect links too. From memory, Dave married Hully's bairn and he's certainly put the practice in to keep the flame burning. Think of Almiron as the new Malcom Macdonald and you'll get the picture!

    In the original 5 Rod hardly ever sang a word - and he still can't sing

      What the hell man...it was a fantastic performance and for age...could you do this at 74? Rod Clements is the original founding member and that is his age. Well done to him and all the band.

      Lindisfarne, like so many other bands isnt about individuals, its about the music. For me the lineup that lives in my heart and soul is Alan, Ray, Ray, Si, Rod......sadly 2 are no longer with us and 2 have taken other paths, but its thanks to these guys that the music and songs live on...if not them then who ? :)
