The most amazing thing about this vid for me is how generous and present Sammy is. He's only trying to do the song justice, not pull out all the stops and grab the spotlight. There are even a few points where he oversteps a bit and just smiles and pulls back. What a fucking LEGEND!!! And Rob Thomas... well... I don't know what you can say. His worst song is awesome...:)

I saw Sammy at a small airport getting off a private plane years ago. I took a picture of him walking from the plane, and he saw me and walked over to me and shook my hand and said hello. Truly a great person.

Sammy is a real gentleman to play as understated as he did. Hes obviously great, and can shred, and most people dont know that. He knows that. So instead of shoving a thousand licks in out face he plays tastefully. Honestly this is better than the surprise of seeing prince shred for the first time.
This is the best Rock & Roll Road Trip ever. Love love slamming Sammy always and forever. Then Rob comes along later and he’s so hot. Then the two of them together. It’s more than a dream come true to me. Thank you do much. This is fabulous.

One of the best interviews I've seen Sammy do. Rob makes you feel like you're part of the process. Sammy's not just a celebrity or musician but a real people person. Him and Alice Cooper are in a league of they're own.

A short story; As a single man having a much earned midlife crisis, I traveled on holiday from SoCal to Thailand in 2001. I found myself in a GoGo bar in Pattaya. Back in the late 60’s, I was too young to be drafted in the Vietnam war. I had read that many solders took R&R in Thailand back then. As I sat in this GoGo Bar, a stunner came out dancing to the song “Game of Love”. Then came on “Smooth”. Sitting on a leather couch, I had a girl on my left hugging me, a girl on my right hugging me, while Carlos and Rob were killing it with that song. I just rested my head back and grinned from ear to ear as it hit me, this is where and why my brothers took R&R here. I get it! The memory of that trip gives me joy to this day. 🤟
You can forget how good Sammy is as a guitar player.. THIS ROCKS!!.. Rob's Vocals are perfect!!

Rob used to live down the road from me. I used to hear some goofy stories of people running into him at the store or the gym. He’s just a person, folks. But he’s a good singer, too!

Sammy, you never disappoint, always bringing it. Your music, performances, interviews. Love the variety of people you bring on and how you relate. This really is your calling.
I've done security for a lot of artists over the past decades.. and I have to agree Willie Nelson not only the nicest man, but so humble and what blew my mind about him is after the shows he'd go out and sign stuff and meet fans and take photos, and he'd remember some of them by name from a previous time he was in town. The dude is super sharp. And I too, watched Live without a Net all the time growing up, and I think some people forget Sammy is a really good guitarist.
Rob and Sammy, you guys continue to rock. Musical gold. Never afraid to write lyrics about human yearning. Always ready to rock. Back during the heyday of “3AM” and what was it? “Balance” by VH at that time (I think?) I never would have imagined this vid here on CZcams -/ but you guys continue to surprise people pleasantly with rock. I would love to see Rob singing about how he can’t drive 55 either.

I have been waiting, and hoping, that one day Rob would be a guest on R&RRT! I was not let down. Great talk and interaction between these 2 legends. Maybe they will collaborate on something soon. Can't wait to see Sammy later this summer! Haven't seen Rob as a solo artist, but seen him many times with MB20. They both always put on a great show.
