It's a pretty commonly known phenomenon that if you bring up cocaine to someone who has a history with it, there is a good chance that they will start sniffing and rub their nose. Those actions and deeply entwined with the thought of the drug.
The hunt for drugs was half the fun.The people I met and the crazy places I ended up was as fun as doing the drug itself.

Sniffing is probably just his mind going back to what he's talking about. If he's taking antidepressants that could cause tics too. I was on Paxil for years and one of the side effects for me was muscle spasms and generally twitchiness. One of my prescriptions for neuropathy pain causes embarrassing facial tics and rapid eye movement.
Just thinking diplomatically. Could be a lot of things affecting Theo.

Any member of 12-step Fellowship should know better than to mention the specific 12-step Fellowship. My man needs to get involved with some tradition work for he represents everybody again
T. Roll sure bro it's one of our traditions that states we need to have personal anonymity at the level of press radio and films.
Basically this guy Theo could essentially represent his 12-step Fellowship as a whole two people who are watching. And 12-step fellowships have no leaders or Representatives. Essentially he could turn people away from wanting to go if they don't like him or if an individual isn't living app perfect life people might think everybody in that Fellowship lives like they do and I can hurt the fellowship.

@Owen Thomas straight from AA's website: anonymity stresses the equality in the Fellowship of all members by putting the brake on those who might otherwise exploit their A.A. affiliation to achieve recognition, power, or personal gain.
He's not using it for personal gain are talking about anyone's problem in his fellowship. I'm in AA and he's not promoting AA or using it for personal gain. He's merely sharing that he's in the program. Where did he break anonymity?
Ya ya, I've been to man meetings. And they all have their own set of rules while generally following the big rules that they want. I've been to places where you can say things while someone is speaking, been places where God is completely separate and step, "accepting a higher power" is viewed different than most bbn places. The list goes on. I'm sure he would be much more aware if his fellowship didn't want him speaking of it in any way. Some places like their popularity and want more people to attend. Promoting your meetings doesn't reveal the names of anyone who attends anyways. The more addicts you can bring in and start facing the truth the better in my opinion. Think of how many people would start the process if they knew people they looked up to were going. Probably much more likely to admit to step 1 than just hitting rock bottom..... Just my 2 cents.
Jonathan Owens well tbh AA is built on attraction rather than promotion. It's one of the 12 traditions. Sure some places work differently, talking over someone is just ridiculous if you ask me. Nevertheless, he's not promoting his fellowship nor is he speaking about it in any other way than his experience there which can build attraction to potential addicts/abusers. I think personal anonymity is key which would suggest not even saying he's in AA period but people are free to do what they want just so long as they don't expose others and their privacy. Alot of private and embarrassing stories are told in these rooms, stories that I don't want to be revealed.
Nobody needs 12 steps... just one heartfelt apology to God --- Jesus does the rest.
