You needa take that on some trails bro. You have one of the greatest enduro mountain bikes, go shred!! Mountain biking is incredibly fun.
One thing to think about is on the trails you still don't want a total lock out even when climbing because your wheels need that active suspension to track the ground better over rocks and roots

Awesome bike john. I ride my fuji 29er to work everyday 10 miles from long beach to torrance. Love urban free riding. Now you can really ride anywhere and longer distance!
9:08 try not to put the bike down on the derailleur, lay it on the opposite side or stand it against something
Also your mate at the bike shop to set the derailer so your gears change better 👍

Dude awesome bike! Urban mountain biking is the best. Got a Nukeproof 275 Mega Pro myself so I understand the joy! Pro tip for you, those brakes are designed and powerful enough that you only need to use one finger (your index finger) to brake. Just a tip. But like I said awesome bike and video. Keep it up!

I watched this video before Nukeproof megawatt one and i remember this yt capra had fully automatic front and rear suspension and i m just wondering what if we build a almsot fully Ebike like by taking front fork from yt capra uncaged and put it on nukeproof megawatt and rear automatic suspension from fox which currently in testing then add 3000$ motor on the front wheel to add more electric power. Then its like surron with pedals😂 Well if i was him i will make that changes and change the handlebar for different one which also has somekind of suspension system that i have seen from youtube shorts, then change sram code rsc brake by replacing shimano xtr M9120 brakes which is my favourite.
Lock out the rear suspenion for manuals otherwise it will eat up all the efford you put in trying to put your weight over the back tire. 29ers roll fast and eazy no problems getting speed up fast. MTBs are the best in everything, braking is all ways good due to they are lightweight. The Surron will never stop as good as a MTB. On the Surron try to find a brake with 220 rotors for the front and 180mm rotors on the back and the better 4 piston calipers you can find, it won't be cheap to do.

Having gears your legs will thank you going up those cali hills. I have rode a hardtail on the road for years and the 29 ers are great it feels like you are 10 feet off the ground. I love the 29 inch because you can roll over almost anything you encounter on the road.

what youre talking about, with gear systems that keep the correct gear at 10:30, already exists in bikes that have gearboxes and there is a new front chain ring and crank system that has a torque sprocket that can do this too with regular derailures but its expensive. look up the millyard 002 downhill bike for example.

My guess for why Sram Red feels faster than X01 is because generally the gaps on red (or any road cassette), are smaller than mtb cassettes. This creates a smoother and faster shift.
In addition to that, the clutch is gonna be a lot more stiff since it is technically for downhill/enduro riding.
noah is completely correct. also you should explain that the "clutch" is pretty much just referring to the amount of spring tension in the pivoting long cage of the rear derailleur - newer derailleurs have a clutch to make it possible to run a single front chainring with no chain guide or tensioner to keep the chain from bouncing off the front when it gets rough or bumpy.
Sick bike dude! I love riding my enduro (Trek Slash) on pretty much any terrain or in any conditions. IMO perfect all around bike to have. Also, i have SRAM X01, GX and Shimano XT (On my enduro), and I have to say I do like the XT better overall. Just seems more robust and I've put it thru the ringer and it's a solid setup. SRAM X01 shifts nice and smooth, but I feel like it's more delicate, for a lack of a better term. Not a fan of SRAM GX. Oh, also you should get an XX1 chain if you don't have one already.

Although I'm not sure I'd love to climb on a bike like this without the motor, maybe a fuel ex would be easier for all round?
@@Lee-ic2yn I think the new 2023 Gen 6 Fuel Ex would be an excellent choice for all types of terrain, both big mountain and even around the city like John Hicks does. It looks like a well rounded bike from what I can tell. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet. The Gen 5 (2020-2022 model) is a great bike as well. Still kinda hard to find both gen's in stock in most cases.
@@adventurefj819 yeah I agree, I haven't seen the new one in person but I was debating the fuel exe when I bought the rail. Decided I wanted all the power 😆
But yeah I've tried the fuel ex8 and it was a great bike to be fair, decent climber too
cool first ride video. My friend had a 29er. He said it was best on the street. As he felt it was to cumbersome for our local trails. One thing that could be fun to try would be a 27.5 rear wheel (mullet) set up. as tricks would be easier on it.

Should I get an XC or enduro ( both full-suspension) for on-road commutes. Comfort is my priority.
A full suspension enduro bike would be over kill for an on road commuting bike. A hard tail xc bike would be much more efficient for the type of riding you're doing.

Hi dude great video. That bike is similar to my one you might be better to pump suspension up. Front forks 150psi and rear 225 psi. Makes a huge difference.
If you're riding you should wear an nta helmet like xnito or bern hudson, or even a full face helmet, I see a lot of people wearing cpsc helmets, those don't really protect you
with your sram axs there is an app that you use for setting gears up and setting up how fast the gears shift and how many gears the derialleur shifts with long presses and all that good stuff. take a look at it and adjust the speed of the shift. this could help improve it

You should probably try contacting them to see if they will refund you some money because you bought it so close to the sale. Someone did something similar with canyon and they got money back. Worth giving it a try!

Seen on your previous (unboxing) video, and now it's clear for me: you've just thrown away the rubber protections from your cranks xD Those weren't there just for shipping, but, because of this crankset is made of carbon, it need some extra protection in case you hit some rocks/stairs with it. Carbon fiber parts are very strong, but at the same time very delicate too. If you damage them with sharp, hard objects, these may lose their integrity, and you could have a serious injury (cuz these won't bend or deform slowly, but are quite brittle). I recommend you to buy some rubber protection for your cranks. Have fun with your bikes!

Hay Jon wanted to let you know that I had the same brakes on my enduro bike and about 3 months later I had to bleed them 3 times and the stoping power started to go away so i changed my brakes to. Hope v4 and I have hade them for 2 months and haven’t have to bleed them and they have way more stoping power. I have a Yt Capra core 3. Enjoy the monster of a bike you have.

They had an auto bike back in the 90's but it kind of sucked and was mostly a leisure bike for like riding around your neighborhood or work commute. It shifted with a system of centrifugal weights on the rear wheel with a rear derailleur attached to them.

100% put a 27.5 rim/tire on the rear... it makes it much more nimble and snappier on switchbacks....or traffic/pedestrian dodging in this case lol.

That’s a sweet bike but I think you got too much bike for your first mountain bike. It’s better to learn on a basic bike which you won’t feel bad thrashing around or taking risks. After you get comfortable, you can upgrade.

them brakes positioned higher than my crush's standards XD on a serious note though, it would be a lot more comfortable if they were sitting at around 45 degrees downwards (idk how else to explain it) Also the helmet camera mount looks way too high kinda like snoop (or maybe it has to do with the camera settings but i feel like the chest mount should be perfect)
