    NOTES:
    1. Clarify your scalp regularly (Naptural85 cleanses once a week) Don't wait longer than 2 weeks
    2. Truly moisturize your hair regularly. Oils, Aloe Vera, Water and a sealing butter. Don't just use oil
    3. Get trims. Some people like to schedule regular trips. Naptural85 only trims when she sees split ends
4a. Try to do gentle styling. Limit hairstyles that stress the root such as a slick ponytail and slicked back looks. Be careful of what accessories you're using in your hair.
4b. Take your time and detangle
4c. Make sure you are in a good mood when you are detangling
    5. Use protective style. Don't just leave it, make sure your hair is styled gently
    6. Keep hair stretched. Such as twist and braid outs. Shrunken hair from wash and gos can cause more wear and tear.
    7. Choose healthy hair products. Reach for products that are better for your hair
8a. Drink more water and less sugary drinks. Even if the sugar is healthy, you should limit the sugar. Drinking a lot of caffeine is BAD for hair growth
8b. Be careful with the alcohol that you're drinking
    9. EXERCISE! It get's the blood flowing and pumping through your body. It works similar to the inversion method and massaging your scalp.

    1. Wash your hair/scalp. AGREED. After cowashing for 1.5 yrs, I've decided to go back to frequently cleaning my scalp due to the itch and hairbreakage ive experience.
    2. Moisturizing. 😒Yes, oil is not enough. I've learned the hard way it just sits on top and get all over my pillows and wraps instead of my hair where it needs to be. Going back to leave-ins.
    3. Trim. Nope. I do not apply any heat whatsoever so skipping.
    4. Gentle styling. YEP! My scalp gets sore from all the tugging/pulling from the ponies causing breakage from the root.
    5. That wide tooth Comb. I had 3 and i wasn't using them. Shamw on me. Finger detangling is always a must now that i know how to do it properly with conditioners before washing.
6.Healthy Products. Agreed 1000% A lot of these "natural" products still have the same toxic chemicals we're all trying to avoid. Same pig different lipstic. Switching to products from bak in the day.
    Okay, thank you.

I did it nearly every day. My hair was shoulder blade length stretched. I’d do a wash and go and it would shrink to right above my shoulders or shorter. I just flat out stopped doing twist outs and wore wash and go’s for like 9-10 months and my hair gradually broke off. The coils would tangle, I noticed a lot more single strand knots. And my hair was brushing up on everything. That was back in 2016 and my hair still hasn’t fully recovered just yet. Wash and go’s have to be a “sometimes” style for me.

HiThereLindsey washing and redoing hair after 5 days or so wont lead to hydral fatigue... deep conditioning too much and washing daily can... what i mean is by day 7 my hair is super dried out so instead of replenishing moisture when its gone i find its best to try to just maintain the moisture. By the time you hair is dried out its even more prone to breakage... i also incorporate protein deep conditioners monthly.

So I now realize the two strand twist is my best option for my hair to grow longer. I'm at bra strap length when stretched and ironed out. Also, the protective styling point is so KEY to growth. There are some people who really don't believe in doing it but it is seriously a major component in natural hair growth. Hey Whitney 👋. I freaking love you ❤️ and I have been following your channels since the beginning of my Natural Hair journey for almost 7 years. I'm a cosmetologist who specializes in Natural Haircare. Just want to say that on average no matter what hair type or race, everyone's hair begins to split every 3months. So it's best to trim ⅛ of an inch or less (assuming that's the only damage they have) just as it's starting to split. At the end of the year clients retain more length than when they wait longer than 3months. So that's 4 trims a year or 1 trim a season. This eliminated a ton of problems including excessive shedding/ tangling/ dryness/knots and keeps a cute shape. However that is the average recommendation. I believe your hair is stronger than most and can go longer without a trim. Some people need them a little sooner. I just wanted to explain the reason for scheduling trims as you mentioned in your video. I'm so thankful for all that you do for the natural hair community and will definitely be purchasing some of your products. Love ya, stay true. 🤗😉

I completely agree with all that you said... especially “ keep your hair stretched”. I love to wear my hair curly , but I don’t wear it often anymore. It was a hard lesson learned for me. I used to assume wearing my hair curly/natural was automatically healthier for my hair but would notice that I seemed to shed more hair and my ends seemed thinner when I would straighten after a curly period. It seemed like my hair was healthier when I was blow drying and flat ironing it ( which seemed like a crazy idea to me). While, I doubt the flat iron was doing any good for my hair, I’ve found my happy medium by still blow drying my hair once a week. Thanks for the video! I just posted my first 2 CZcams videos. Yay! I’m so excited, I’m cutting salons out of my routine unless I want professional elegant styling most likely for special occasions because I feel like they damage my hair when they detangle before and during my washes. I’ve bought my revair so now my hair will be constantly stretched out and I will be trimming my ends and paying attention for split ends and knots to trim them every wash for 2 weeks to one week. I love your videos

You are so right about the wash and go!! I find my hair is drier and gets more knotted in a wash and go state. I now limit my wash and go's as I like the style, but keep my hair stretched most of the time.

Yes loved all the advice!!! Washing your hair regularly is so important, I was trying the co-washing thing and only shampooing my hair once a month but my hair was in the worst shape of my life, falling out, but my hair stylist said “do you only wash your face once a month, “no” “exactly”!!!

"Make sure you're not pissed off while doing your hair"...yeah.... I had mid-back length hair....a few months ago, I was mad, decided to wash and detangle my hair, got frustrated while detangling and big chopped... probably should've waited an extra day to do my hair 😒

Hey whitney! The wash n go tip was just what I needed to hear! I, too, fell in love with my texture years ago. I wear my wash and go on a regular basis (usually slicked into a low ponytail or high bun, if not out). I noticed my growth has pretty much plateaued. I guess I got lazy. Thanks for the tips! Keep doing what you're doing!

I love that you admited thst you liked the twist outs because it looked more like a relaxer. We have to admit that it takes time to get accustomed to the look of our hair
