    Excellent out-of-the-window shots behind the 37. Nice view of the Western at the beginning too, despite the 158 photobomb. And very lucky at 7:30!

    Excellent quality compilation! Video is great, but it's the sound that really makes it for me - particularly the choppers and tractors!

    I've seen this scene in the beginning, in a lot videos. A rail car with a boxed stuff like that thing is really important or secret, between two 37s. What do they carry? Why 2 locos? And why there's no company name or something on that box? Anyone knows?

      Thank you for watching. Quite a high proportion of the footage was recorded in 4K; however, some slightly older footage was only recorded in 1080P. Consequently, I have compressed the entire video to 1080P. Any future uploads will be published in 4K resolution, though.

      Thanks for watching. This train is known as the "High Output Ballast Cleaner" or "HOBC". The "HOBC" is an engineers train, used around the country by Network Rail, that specialises in the renewal of the track.

    i cant understand why the rail companies put 2 or 3 diesels on pulling a load ie the colas freight train had 3 engines.when i was a kid in the 70s and 80s i used to love watching the br diesels on the manchester to bolton line hauling long loads i never saw the engines doubled or tripled up like you see now.must use a fair bit of wasted diesel.

    A someone who hopes to introduce track side trainspotting to my 3 yr old.... can you enlighten me as to the best way to get on a platform in Britain with out having to buy tickets to ride. He's mad about trains and I'm trying to find better spot for close up spotting., thanks

      Class 52 'Western' - and one of the finest locos of 1960's and 70's. I'm shedding a few nostalgic tears as I type...

    • @johnclayden1670
      @johnclayden1670 Před 5 lety

      @@mikethecabbie8476 Yep, I too was fond of the hydraulics, these and the Warships. Sadly, their reliability was suspect: I remember being stopped by loco failure on the Cornish Riviera Express in 1972, just west of Plymouth I think. 4 hours: but happily the bar was open and stocks lasted!

    • @KyleLaw19
      @KyleLaw19  Před 5 lety

      Thank you. The leading locomotive was a class 68 with a class 37 on the rear. The train in consist was a "Rail Head Treatment Train", often abbreviated to "RHTT". These trains often use a combination of water and sand to improve adhesion on the railway line due to contamination by falling leaves in the Autumn.

      Thank you for watching and for your kind comments. If you're looking for a quality 4K camcorder, I'd personally recommend the Panasonic HC-VX870, Panasonic HC-VX980 or Panasonic HC-VXF990 - all of which are in a similar price range. Perhaps the best value for money would be the Panasonic HC-VX870. I've only ever had experience with Panasonic camcorders; however, Sony also offers some great 4K capable camcorders.
