00:46 🧲 Mewing is about creating a vacuum in your mouth to keep your tongue on the roof, not pressing it.
03:25 🌬 Mouth breathing can lead to facial asymmetry and tongue posture issues.
05:16 🦷 Mewing can help correct a narrow upper palate and improve facial structure.
06:53 💰 Homeoblocks and thumb pulling can widen the upper palate effectively.
08:10 🧠 Believe in mewing as a long-term lifestyle change, not just a quick fix.
09:35 📷 Visible changes in facial structure and better breathing can result from mewing.
10:52 🍽 Chewing hard foods and proper swallowing can contribute to dental health and facial development.

I started mewing around 6 years ago when I looked in the mirror and was unhappy with how my jaw looked. My jaw angle wasn't looking great. 6 years later I have made mistakes while mewing, but the developments I have gotten from it are undeniable.
Edit: People were asking me for what my mistakes were and so I decided to briefly talk about that and also expand on my experience with mewing.
    My mistakes were:
    1. Not resting the entire tongue on the palate.
    2. Trying to force my tongue onto the top of my mouth instead of using the swallowing technique to create a vacuum, so that it sticks by itself. (trying to force it by pushing your tongue back results in you not being able to breath)
    3. Not relaxing my jaw. The first video I watched said that I had to "clench down a bit" in order to see results. Don't do this. if your teeth slightly touch or don't touch when relaxed then you're doing it correct. Incorrect jaw postures (the way your upper and lower jaw sit relative to each other) slightly changes the way your teeth feel when biting down due to muscular adaption, which is also how you can know when you're doing it right. IF you're doing it incorrect biting down feels very narrow and if you're doing it correct the teeth fit perfectly within each other when biting down. I've never heard anyone talk about this though, so it could be different for you. Another edit: your jaw should not be drooping all the way down, nor should it be clenching. Try to find that range between slightly touching or slightly apart
    4. Swallowing and chewing incorrectly. (See video).
Finally I want to share my results, although this comment is pretty long so I'll keep it brief. I want to start of with that *mewing is not a wonder drug* , it is simply the correct tongue posture for your jaw to grow correctly. If you have a shorter ramus on average, mewing might not fix that, although for many it can. I had a short ramus, while so it appeared. Mewing made my jaw a lot straighter and what appeared to be a short ramus was actually just a result of mouth breathing. It's kinda hard to explain. My face also appears way more forward grown than it did back then.

@@Matt-bk2rt I deleted my previous comment as I had made a pretty stupid mistake. Yes mewing does not change the bone density/length of your jaw, it does however change the position of your jaw. Well, mostly. Mewing restructures your jaw bones to sit correctly, which might slightly alter it's appearance, although it won't make any large differences in how large or wide the bone already is.
That being said, bad jaw posture does not fix itself with age, rather it only does with posture. In my case I had a short ramus due to mouth breathing every time I slept and frequently when awake as well. As I started mewing these changes suddenly went away.
Mewing is no wonder potion, but so many people have incorrect posture, that mewing might grant them satisfying results.

Answer to the question: Teeth, especially wisdom teeth, are like the concrete footings of the face. Extracting them (Quentons case) will cause the palate to get smaller and collapse, which causes a droopy looking face. I'm here to share my results with mewing. I'm a 25 year old male.
9 month update: Essentially I have become almost unrecognizable. Before learning of mewing and always mouth breathing due to a condition of my ribs being pushed in and keeping my lungs from fully expanding from a car accident, I had no inner u of the face development and my jaw did not exist. My face looked drawn and chubby with a low body fat and my outer U was overdeveloped. I had sleepy eyes and looked much dorkier. After mewing and work from a chiropractor, my inner u has started to really develop, sleepy eyes are gone, and my face is starting to really look symmetrical. My jaw line increased immensely and have a full developed jaw line now. I think I will now be able to keep my wisdom teeth, as I can tell the top of the palate of my mouth has expanded. I recommend combining mewing with the chewing of jaw liner gum 1-2 per week for a couple of months and it really makes a noticeable difference. My family and friends had mentioned a difference without me asking them about it.(11 month update) dentist has confirmed me being able to keep wisdom teeth after one year ago being told I need them removed or will suffer repercussions. Highly recommend this

I've played since elementary school a woodwind instrument so had to train my subconscious to breathe with my diaphragm. My parents also raised us with manners, meaning never chewing mouth-open. Another thing I wanted to add is that in PRI (posture restoration), there can be an imbalance in the body where your diaphragm, the breathing muscle, can be larger on one side causing further imbalances throughout the body, even up to the neck and jaw affecting placement and structure. I would definitely look into it as mewing can be just one part of the puzzle, but along with chewing, we breath everyday automatically. And if we are breathing wrong, that can affect our overall function as humans.

Some time around mid-late 2021 all of a sudden I started getting a lot of attention from girls, starting going on a lot of dates, I started getting compliments from women and actually feeling good about the way I looked. I'm not a good looking guy by any means, my face is very asymmetrical and twisted but in terms of forward growth there is a definite difference. Keeping my tongue pressed flat against the roof of my mouth stopped being a conscious act many years ago. No memory of when it stopped lol but it's just habit now. Also if you dont mew properly and like 1 part of your tongue is pressing harder then another you can create asymmretries(But its fixable if you apply pressure evenly again)
If these asymmetries are from before mewing but they got exaggerated when you started mewing then that also means you mewed unevenly(But much of the asymmetry could still be reversed)
However if these asymmetries are caused by an external factor like sleeping only on one side or chewing only on onside it can be easily fixed as well.

I was actually mewing my whole life but when I actually got to know about it, I didn't realize that my tongue usually stayed up and that was my tongue position and unfortunately I started following yt vids and stuff which made me so confused and conscious about my tongue posture like I don't know where to put my tongue, to properly close my mouth, to breath through etc. Everything got so messed up that I used to constantly think about it but finally yesterday I realized that before whenever I rested my face, my tongue was automatically on the upper palate of my mouth. Damn I feel so stupid and sad, i lost a lot of face fat due to this and my face got longer 😭 now I'm just staying at my normal resting face. I hope it gets normal

I’d say it goes even deeper…the body needs to be trained specifically to promote symmetry and symbiosis for movement in general. The side effects of this will trickle up to the face leading to more symmetry there, harmony etc etc
Treat the body as a whole

While genetics can play a role, environmental factors also contribute significantly to dental alignment. Mewing, along with proper tongue posture and oral habits, can help in achieving better dental alignment. It's always a good idea to consult with a dental professional for personalized advice. Best of luck on your journey towards improving your dental alignment!

As for the twins: Quentin seems to have a more protruded mandible when compared to Ben at the end. It is hard to tell who exactly got better results but judging by Quentin’s well developed jaws I would say proper tongue posture allowed his maxilla to expand and resolve any crowding that might have been present. Also providing a firm base for his bone structure to grow naturally and make his face more harmonious.

I saw a video on instagram that was very interesting to me. This lady said that drinking pasteurized milk and eating processed grains block your airways in the sinus area because it creates an accumulation of mucus (everywhere in the body). The result is that people can't breath through their nose properly anymore because it is blocked through mucus. Result: people start mouth breathing. She suggested quitting dairy and gluten. BUT.I have been lactose and gluten intolerant for years. I now live on a farm and started eating an ancestral diet. This contains raw milk and whole grains. Guess what. I have no issue whatsoever with them. Why? Because this is how those foods are naturally. Unprocessed. No pasteurization or refining of grains. Raw milk contains the enzyme lactase so you actually PROCESS the lactose in milk. It contains a whole array of minerals, vitamins and trace elements you NEED. So wouldn't it make perfect sense that because of the industry trying to rid us of the food as it IS in it's natural perfection, we got excess mucus, blocking our airways, making people into mouth breathers and deforming their faces? I have been lactose intolerant to pasteurized milk since I was two. I have been mouthbreathing since my childhood and had to wear retainers for 4 years, pulling 6 teeth out to be able to fit all of them into my mouth. This definitely rings a bell to me. More then one.

In two and a half months, I improved my facial symmetry by grinding a crooked tooth, expanding my palate with my fingers, and practicing mewing and tongue chewing. However, I know that my improvement was mainly muscular, as even the muscles in my cheekbones have increased. I'm not sure if the bone structure of my cheekbones has actually grown, but they do look larger, and my face looks wider.
I just need to master the tongue suction and resolve some respiratory issues that close my throat. I started when I was 21 years old. The suction part is the hardest for me; I have already mastered proper chewing and swallowing.

Answer: The traditional orthodontic treatment (Ben) w/ extraction of teeth negatively impacted his facial structure. The other twin, Quentin, was treated with mewing which resulted in improved facial structure, increased symmetry, and proper bite. He also likely has more airway for breathing compared to his twin.

    Answer to the question:
Quentin has a better facial structure than his twin brother Ben at the end because his mandible ( lower jaw ) sticks out ( protrudes ) a bit more than his brother's , this was possible due to the mewing and the treatment given by Dr. Mew, whereas for Ben removing his Wisdom teeth made his palate smaller and the teeth to fall inwards

having “hypertrophied” facial muscles is probably not so bad, because they do not experience stress with additional weights, but only constantly work under tension. The jaws are designed so that you can chew constantly and your muscles won't grow enough to cause you problems. The problem may be swelling.

    Answer:
Quentin would have got a better facial structure than Ben as he was treated by Dr. Mew. After getting his teeth extracted, Ben would still struggle with the same jaw pressure issue. The mewing is not in place and nor are other exercises, so the face would continue to get irregularities because the proper nose breathing and tonque pallette resting is not in place. The initial correction would not suffice.
In case of Quentin the proper exercises and mewing would compound and make the face structure better eventually.

Proper tongue posture and small tongue exercises can keep the tongue up during sleep which can also help apnea! Use a neti pot, nasal strips, and once you get good breathing through the nose tape your mouth at night and see how the apnea goes! Also stop mouth breathing asap!

      Hi here's the answers :
1-taking teeth for orthodontic treatments like using braces for solving crooked teeth is not recommended ,because the result will be smaller upper palate .And Mewing result is more on moving the maxilla forward and upward ,and has a slight effect on making the palate wider, even the orthotropics use the palate expanders like homeoblock for this purpose .
2-the position of the teeth is like that while Mewing :
The upper teeth should place in front of lower teeth with a slight touch .
3-to swallow correctly ,you should only use your tongue to lead the drink or food to your throat (rewatch the video ,you can see the animation about it).
4-you don't need the mouth tape if you are not mouth breather

When i was 18 i had a sharp jawline and prominet facial structure which surprised me also. I guess the reason here can be explained as i entered into my high school i was becoming more mature and didnt really spoke a lot to my peers and always ate with mouth closed and talked only when it was needed without knowingly at all. It really was just this nothing anything special as described here. Its the same with height if you try to focus on ur height it wont ever and u will become more hopeless than u r but if u just forget everything about it and just eat well , sleep timely and keep physically active the consequences will slways show up and u wont have ever specifically worry about such things..

@@nicolaslagos8749 I tried towel pulling for the first time last night 9.6.2023 and I is not my favorite. I will probably do that very minimally. I think it is a faster route to moving the whole maxilla. However, I did 3 sets of 30 seconds in addition to the thumbing exercises. When I went to bed my neck hurt quite a bit. I was very uncomfortable for several hours until I was so exhausted I finally fell asleep. I opted to not take any pain meds. My neck is a bit sore today as well. However, I do feel a difference in the way my maxilla sits today. I do not see the difference but, I do feel it. Also, my palate seems to have stayed widened with the towel pulling. Next time, I will take some pain reliever with my food before I do the towel pulling again. I think I will only do that twice a month. Maybe more if my neck doesn't feel as sore.
