I do have a brain and I spoke my previous comment from experience. Five years ago, my brother and my sister-in-law were married and invited everyone they were close to and love. As much as I was happy to attend as well as being my sister-in-law's bridesmaid, that story was different than that of Castle and Beckett's. Castle wanted to marry her, but a disappearance turned things around and Castle could barely live the guilt of it. Bottom line is: their friends were nothing but jerks to them.

Spy or no spy, Castle's father should've attended his son's wedding. This was the 3rd one that he didn't try to attend, and he should've after all that Castle had been through, including going to Paris to save Alexis from a man who had a personal grudge against her paternal grandfather.
