This just might be Tony's finest moment in the series. Steel Balls. Runs, shoots two bad guys and jumps in to save Gibbs and Maddie. Gibbs told Tony's dad (Robert Wagner as Sr.) that he hides behind the face of a clown but is the best young agent that he has ever worked with. Copy that!
I watched the behind the scenes of this episode, It is pretty interesting that Mark Harmon refused a stunt double for the underwater scene, he wanted to do the stunt himself, now that right there takes some guts. Got to respect the actors that help to make this show a masterpiece.
Gibbs may always give Tony grief, but there is an amazing amount of respect there. You know Gibbs is the Dad to all his agents. He rails on them to make them stronger. Strangely enough, this is the only episode I have never seen in its entireity, and it seems one of the most popular!
Tony is the coolest. he's keeps the show funny with his jokes, teasing and movie references and is a little immature at times but when it comes to a fight or messing with one of his teammates, he'll take you down and out in a blink of an eye. such a boss.
I always get teary eyed when Kelly tells Gibbs to go back. It's so sweet and touching. I think it would be so hard to not just die if you knew that you would get to see your loved ones who had passed on. I know it would be hard for me, knowing that if I would let go, I would get to see my three grandparents and my older brother who was still born. Still, I like to think that they are watching me and are proud of what I've done.
I love this scene so much, and this episode. I(t was an episode that revolved around Gibbs and his daughter, and then he's saved by Tony, who's the closest thing he has to a son.:)
I love this scene. Tony is badass in it. Strange thing is that I've seen the episode twice on USA after the original airing and they cut the part where Tony guns down the bad guys while running.
They also cut the part when Tony gives CPR to both and is freaking out when Gibbs won't wake up. "Don't make me kiss you, boss." I think that's one of ny fave parts. Tony has a special place in my heart. XD

that sequence (2:00-2:20 here), tony running through the warehouse, shooting the kidnappers, diving into the water, the underwater scenes, and performing CPR on both is the very FIRST scene in the episode before it cuts to the theme song and title credits....then the episode starts at the beginning of the story....the sequence was cut in here, AS it would have occured in actual time....
It was on last night again there was a scene in it were Gibbs found a time capsule his daughter buried with her friend madie and Gibbs nearly cried!! SOOOOO sad I cried at that bit.
Tony is a guy full of flaws, and a very humanized character, in this scene he acts like a hero, it's amazing that he never mentioned this feat to impress any woman, I think out of respect for Gibbs.

I'd also like to have seen followup with Gibbs and Dinozzo where Gibbs thanks Tony in his own Gibbs kind of way for saving Maddie and him and Ziva, McGee, Ducky, Abby in awe of Tony and his bravery.

Tony at a dead sprint, kills two bad guys in a three-piece suit, does a world class dive off the pier that would make an Olympic diver jealous and then swims underwater 15 maybe 20 feet gets both Gibbs and Maddie out of the car, swims them both to the surface and performs CPR on both, saving both of their lives! It's true what Abby said, "Tony is soft and mushy and goofy on the outside but hard as rock on the inside....he is funny and extremely brave and a solid agent. This is one of my 5 most favorite episodes ever. Tony is legendary forever. This episode is right up there with the one where Tony and McGee go to Africa to rescue Ziva.
It seems kind of unnatural of Gibbs to just rush into the car and drive it in the water. Gibbs could have taken one of their guns while they were stumbling, or at least turned the wheel once they got outside. If they managed to swim to the surface, what would have been his plan while two gunman are scouting the edge?
I had to think about this because if I am not mistaken Candace Goodman's character is DEAD but she is an ANGEL because she refuses to rest until justice for her friend Nicole is served. I could be wrong but I see this as an epiphany.

True - In the UK they put that scene in the programmes trailer B4 the start credits.. Shame as it`s a real kick ass action scene for Tony.
