Hi friends!
Checking out a new project bass and paying homage to the Queen of Soul on one of my fave Aretha tunes! This is a super cheap Squier Bass that I've been working on. Hope you enjoy!

Hey - you play great bass ! Love it. I always listen to the bass - used to play the "up-right" bass myself. You have a wonderful "feel" for intonation and rhythm .

I heard a hall and oates cover of rock steady that was phenomenal. (album blues our way) and going back and listening to Aretha version, I couldn't believe the base line. Wow!! That led me to Rainey. What a song.

Bass players forget they supposed to play the bass line.....use 5 or six string bass and solo like a guitar.. you hold the bass line and get great feel as you go......great work ....

This was a cheap Squier Jaguar bass that I was working on. I think at this point, I had installed a new preamp.

Candra, you turned in an awesome version of the original bass.....was it really Chuck Rainey who was the session guy on bass for Aretha recording? I remember him from Steely Dan - Aja era recordings.
