Confessions on a Dance Floor is the tenth studio album by American singer Madonna , released on November 15, 2005, by Warner Bros. Records . The album marked a departure from her last work, American Life (2003), as it included influences from the disco music of the 1970s and 1980s, as well as contemporary electronic music . Initially, the performer began working with Mirwais Ahmadzaï and even recorded two songs for the album. However, Madonna felt that her work was not going in the direction she wanted, so she began a new collaboration with Stuart Price , with whom she had worked on his documentary From Her I'm Going to Tell You to Secret . Tired of the political themes that she had included in her previous productions, Madonna felt the need to "relax and get in a good mood." [ 1 ] The album was recorded almost entirely in Price's mansion studio, where the singer spent most of her time during recording.
