  • In this episode we have the amazing Jason Rider. Jason owns carp bait company The A Bait and has worked in the industry for many years. He has worked alongside Gary Bayes from Nash Bait as well as Bob from RD Cambell who created the legendary tutti frutti!
This is part 1 of our chat with Jason, we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it!

An amazing series guys. A proper transfer of knowledge from people who really know their subject. No upselling of any particular bait or rig, just brilliant advice. Well done all!

I did say dogs are a good test but don't forget my story about the kitten going crazy for my bait through the bag in my mates van. Looking forward to part 2, great discussion.

Enjoyed that podcast - remember the hassle of trying to roll minglefruit, sucreblend, white lightning and seafood blend! Really interesting insight into bait 👍 Looking forward to part 2.

Brilliant, Jay. Loved the stuff abour Robin Red! Liked the background tinkle of bottle against glass as the gin was poured, Sam. Anyone who is interested in carp bait should listen to this...and to part 2. Jay is no traditionalist where bait is concerned asnd some of his viewpoints make very interesting listening and he really makes you sit up and then maybe go back to listen again. ( What was that he just mentioned? Blimey! Never thought of that!) As a user of the A Bait I know just how effective it is. There are some real pearls in these Podcasts so don't miss a second of them. The Dean Tovey one is equally fascinating, another bait buff whose brain must be filled to bursting with ideas.

I wish Jason was my neighbour! I’d pick his brains and definitely expand mine in the bait buff department. I’ve been fixated on powdered ingredients for some 15 years and would love to here his thoughts on these. Also the tripsin and how this destroys a carps gut which is the real reason all shelf life baits should’ve been banned years ago. Might have to try his bait and see how it is. Good listening can’t wait for the next installation

Trypsin is good! Do you mean trypsin inhibitors? I presume you’re referring to eggs. As the boilies are boiled this negates the issue with eggs trypsin inhibiting qualities.
