Great guide covering all the main aspects of the Paladin. I run the very first eight skill build you displayed at 4:09 -- Light Shock, Holy Sword, Holy Area, Charge, Wrath of God, Heavenly Blessings, Godsent Law and Holy Protection. I am only 1000 gear score right now, and have focused on Specialization over Swiftness, but am transitioning towards more Swiftness upon moving in to Tier 3 gear (eventually). I absolutely love the play-style of Lost Ark's Paladin, I finally feel like a Holy Protector. Keep up the content!
I enjoy this breakdown of a video. Nice to see what skills are taken and why , plus how they are flexible and why others may not be taken. Usually enjoy explanations. I actually love paladin, I know people look down on it a bit compared to bard since it's easier ,but that doesn't bother me. It's a great alt to me and fun to do dailies on.

Great vid, interesting comparisons. One thing I might bring up is on the marking skills you could mention the 10 point Destruction Aftermath node for Holy Explosion, this will apply vulnerability for up to an additional 5s. If you pair this with bleed rune or casting speed rune and the twinkle fingers tripod it's nearly 1s cast time and/or chunky DoT with 17s debuff uptime on a 30s or less CD aoe skill

IMO you should have talked a bit about the tripods on sword of justice (It's my favorite marking skill) - it's a 15 second cooldown with 10 seconds marking but the first tripod reduces it's cooldown by 2 seconds and can be leveled to reduce it further and the dazzling light (lvl 10 left tripod) turns the skill from "instant" to 3 second duration AoE DoT, with each hit refreshing the marking, this means that even with no tripod leveling or cooldown reduction you can have it as a 13 seconds cooldown 13 seconds duration marking. It works nice with galewind and high swiftness too.
I'm not a big fan of light shock, while it probably can work better than any other skill at higher swiftness and cooldown reduction from gems, it's very stressful to have to recast and hit every 6 seconds with the same skill. It lowers the risk of missing with a marking skill since it will only be unmarked for like 6 seconds tops, but it's a heavy weight for your rotation.
For holy sword as a counter I'd advise going all the way to release light, it turns the last hit, the long light forward, into multiple hits for about 1.5 seconds, and all those can counter - making this skill actually a bit slower heavily increases your counter window making it easier to hit.
For light of judgment I prefer righteous light over sustain enchancment - I'm pretty sure you gain the same to your identity gage, but sustain takes a 2 seconds animation, while righteous is a single beam, quicker animation (bonus of only 80% plus damage instead of 150% though). Damage isn't my focus as a support paladin, I'd rather have a quicker cast for that and move on instead of slower for more damage.
I tried testing judgment engraving lvl 1 (it's cheap to get with only green) to check the extra identity gauge gain... and it's fairly dissapointing while testing on trixion. I'd stay away from it, yellow skills, especially the ones with faith tripods, tend to give way more identity gauge than blue with judgment engraving.
For a final note I'd say that executor's sword and dash slash are worth noticing because they both have "weak point" and you can level the weak point of executor to 2, they are good to break bosses parts off. If the boss needs that you should trade charge and holy sword for those.
Light shock does allow you to put Bleed on it though, and with low cooldowns its very high uptime, which is actually quite a significant increase in your damage contribution to the party.
Important to note why Light Shock is still recommended over Sword of justice, being that when combined with Quick Recharge, due to how often you cast the ability over the course of a fight that skill+rune combo has contributed a lot of cooldown to your very important skills like holy protection/heavenly blessing/wrath of god skills.
I personally run it, because what else are you going to be doing, if you don't spam that skill xD
Can someone explain what a marking skill means? I can't seem to find this term when I Google it.
@@hansonchen5683 Its a Tripod called Light's Vestige, debuffs target to take 10% more dmg from all party members, other skills on paladin have a different name for it but the icon and effect is the same (Godsent Law calls it Brilliant Law)
(fyi, these wont stack with themselves, ex: having light shock and sword of justice with this tripod won't make boss take 20% more dmg, it will still only take 10%)

Hey I was wondering about crushing fist engraving, says at max, its 8% dmg to enemy after counter from party, and rn I feel like there's a ton of counters that I'm doing, wondering if it'd be good or if the counter aspect of the game slows down later.

I go 3 blue 4 yellow for my support build, charge for mobility, executors sword for destruction/counters(and the illusion of damage), finally Holy Sword for damage and destruction... for the off chance I counter the boss.

I’ve been having a really hard time playing soul fist and I really want to stick with her even though she’s one of my alts. I just can’t wrap my head around how they deal damage and how to manage my energy bar. Is there anyway you could do a super in depth video on soulfist talking about energy management and how to play at lower item level?
Soulfist is just in a bad state. You spend most of the time building up to hype level 3, then you enter hype 3 and your damage is awesome. Once it runs out, you have to fill it up again. Just got shit on hard in the new KR rework too and they all rec'd to just not play it right now.

How does that paladin build work? The one where you run Judgement 1 Blessed Aura 3. I found several builds on loawa but it doesn't really tell me much on how it plays.
Do you think it’s a mistake to give Bard and Paladin the Nightmare Set? For the Endless Mana Buff? And go full swiftness to have massive cooldown reduction and spam skills? That way you can spam your damage buffs, heals and shields insanely fast?
Lol, yesterday I asked you a pally question and today there is a pally video. I'm about to start t3 but I'm 3 blue and 5 yellow. Counter and the execution of justice for the blue. I might look into dropping my spin slash with the "chance to reduce all cooldowns" for that light shock.

I chose Paladin because I'm playing on 200 ping. At my current ilvl I see most people running away from Igrexion but I'm able to just stand and face tank his attacks. I used to take charge with the shield to dodge attacks but I realise if I need to use that I might as well sub in another skill which lets me take hits better. Might have to change in future when bosses hit harder.
I think the only hard thing with paladin is that a lot of others player don't know what his skills do or might have effects turned off. Because they don't try to stand in the aoe or play in the same area.
Hey man. Another amazing video. Can you please elaborate on Expert engravings "efficiency" and why that changes the way you manage your holy protection cooldown. I would like to know why I can spam the skill with expert but shouldnt if I dont have expert. Thanks in advance.
It's because your group's damage taken > your sustain without Expert.
Depending on the encounter but usually you wanna have either Blessed Aura or Holy Protection available in case where you can't outhealing the damage taken.
For example you wanna stop using Holy Protection when Blessed Aura is about to run out, then use it when both shield and heal have good value for the group. and it goes on and on until you have Blessed Aura up again.
However having Expert allows you to just braindead spam unless your group is literally eating all the patterns. the heal amount is significantly different. hope it helped

Hey nice video but I found that dps version of paladin section was little too short and would like new atleast 1 hour video to go over details on how to play the secretly best DPS build ingame. I know koreans are all over it and they're just hiding it from public cuz it's most hybrid dps build with tons of support so it's best DPS really. I wanna be like top dps paladin mains!
It really baffled me when I noticed no one plays DPS pala in the NA/EU and yet the top 6 paladins in Korea are all DPS ones

@@alexkim789 You can farm mats alone with just one preemptive strike at 3, no need to change your entire build which costs just as much as the normal build, essentially having 2 fully geared characters, makes no sense. They are fully DPS paladins and there are a couple of youtube videos raving about them and telling you what skills they use etc.

So I got a question about his other class engraving, Judgement. What is the point for him having a "dps" option for his class engravings if he's utter doodoo as a dps. I tried it out and his meter doesn't even go up any faster either despite it saying "100% peity meter gain when Punishment skills hit" I'm so sad :(

Your blue skills give you more bubbles with the engraving. but the difference is not that significant and need specific skillset to make it work

yes you could. especially MS buff over cast time is often taken for holy protection but attack damage buff is usually considered better than attack speed
Everyone memes on dps paladin but you really need him for levelling and chaos dungeons and other content. Paladin will be so boring if youre only using yellow skills. But for guardians and dungeons it feels great to run the show and keep everyone alive

Couldn’t disagree more, I run support pally in chaos dungeons, tower, questing, etc just fine, dmg is enough for that content and the yellow holy spells do dmg as well. If it’s still not enough, I’d say it’s not the right class for your play style.
Basis is this: If you are going to party with people who are NOT your friends, then you run as support. Solo and friend runs feel free to go as dps. Even if a dps paladin can be good, you still aren't anywhere as good as an actual dps and you'd only be taking up their slot in the raid. T1/T2 content it doesn't really matter what you run tbh though.
@@patnagle2898 I disagree with what you said. The yellow skills hit hard but only 2 of them do a lot of dmg. For my chaos dungeons I still use wrath of god and heavenly blessing. 15% dmg from both skills for the party. So you still give dmg buffs for the team. I haven’t had any problem with anyone dying in chaos dungeons so I don’t see why protection and godsent are needed

Paladin > Bard. Simply because of the attack buffs on top of his amazing shielding.
The big AoE is a set effect the smaller AOE is blessed aura
