Many of these are in the first Royler-Renzo book. The great thing is Roy shows them in motion with flawless technique. Beautiful stuff. These are basic but that's what great BJJ is built on. Basics win fights.
I like his teaching too , direct to the point, v good.
Man ur great, I've used alot of your techniques while rolling with my trainers and friends thanks alot
Beautifully explained, its the small details that make this video so helpful
I appreciate the simplicity - easy to visualize and apply (rather than 10 to 20 step moves). I have put many of your videos in action at class and they work beautifully (looking forward to applying these escapes this week). My confidence is building because of your videos - thank you!
This video has aged like a fine wine 🍷🍷🍷🍷
I have huge respect for Roy Dean. thanks again
This is the best instructional video I have ever watched keep them coming
excellent small details!

Solid and briefed bunch of counters: great teacher!
Roy Dean always delivers.
from a guy who loves the martial art and has been practicing it for years...you are great. wish i lived next to your school.

this guy is amazing..great video..
Simple and effective self defence for a practical situation. This is what Helio Gracie wanted. Great vid.
excellent video very well done!
Thank u so much!!
amazing thanks for this
Worked these tonight at AXT with Coach Mikuta. Good stuff!
In the playlist.
You are one hell of a instructor.. Very clear and understandable with explaining. All arts need more instructors like you. One major error of Martial Arts is Black Belts carrying the title of Sensei or teacher and they cannot teach.
I love this guy
excellent vid!
I watched it 2019 the last technique is really good tanks for the awesome details, really nice videos you are a great teacher, Osssssssss
Brillient! Very helpful for those sticky situations, haha! Thanks!
Very good instruction - Thanks! :-)
well done
great moves for beginners
very educational video i learned alot just now
congratulations, keep uploading new videos
I won't lie to you, in all of my experiences the "hook the leg" is where it's at when it comes to reliability. Maybe it's just me but that seems to work best.
its good to see how people can escape those headlocks. it helps you offensively as well as defensively
This is gold
I love how Roy rocks it no-rash style
Thanks sir
well done, x
Great teacher. I hope I get the chance to visit your dojo one day
I wish I had watched this video a year ago. I agree totally with the comment on 5:00 since I tore my oblique abdominal muscle doing just that.
Ouch
Roy Dean is smooth!
spectacular counters
Thnks!
good stuff-will help with my randori! oss!
Great
i actually did the first one by instinct a couple weeks ago during mma class. very effective
yea, it is. go check it out, it's good stuff.
where are you lacated? really cool videos!!!
major skills bro...major skills.....i got mad love to BJJ.....
Fantastic instructor, Too bad not many teaches like that in dojo;s, But are more concern in getting paid. This sensei is putting this for free on youtube, golden knowedge with is other video's .Very useful in my sparrings. Thank you.
Too much beer! Awesome!
Humdinger 👍🏼👊🏼👑
i like your way
Roy dean's stuff is untilmate and refined. b
Is this all the techniques shown on this DVD?
Good BJJ
@FrozyFox The Armbar or Armlock.
Thanks to this video, i began my journey in bjj.
OWSEMNESS!
There is no need to point fingers, especially at something so vague. It's not easy to teach what you've learned. This happens in many areas of life. There are plenty of people who are very smart and can learn things very well but few can pass it on with relative ease such as Professor Dean.
FUCKING AWESOME
😬☮️🙏🏻
What is the escape if your opponent is on the ground but his body is completely behind you ?
2:13 i was in this exact position still could get my head out
3 people got caught in a head lock.
once i took my friend to one of my bjj lessons. he did this to me even though he never had seen it before. i couldn't get his head down because he pressed his head against mine, so I used my flexibiity and then i bent my leg over his head, and then I pulled him down.
he should've shown how to escape and headlock when you're facing the ground. that's the hardest position be in. helpful vid though.
How Does This Move Called.???someone plz
3:32
How many people at the end were thinking 'Who Am I ?'...
I watch the video in 2019
its not surprise as much as it is momentum
Most people will only lock your head not your hand especially a big guy
So this is what Miller did to his sister haha :D
Great video, specially for defend from those roided guys with brute strength.
Who headlocks someone on the floor?
My teacher
Im Jelly!
poke his eyes, and he would probably take your head off.
You mess with the bull, you taste the horns.
Need to drill these
damn I actually had a guy in this position and thought I'd be so superior... luckily he had no idea of such moves
w/o rent you don't succeed. He just found the perfect medium.
i wish i was taller
poor tj =(
