    Useful information, thank you. You kept saying "boil" and I thought it was heating up to boil. Learned something new: verb (used without object), to change from a liquid to a gaseous state, producing bubbles of gas that rise to the surface of the liquid, agitating it as they rise.

    Just received my USV20, so I'm very new to using a chamber sealer. Got some great tips from watching the video. Have used FoodSaver for several years but vacuum sealing some food items is not possible. One thing I like is that you put the bottom top of the bag under the holder, and put the top side of the bag over the holder to keep the bag from puffing up. I had been putting the top and bottom under the holder, so now I know to change that process. I am looking forward to vacuum sealing soup and other liquid type food that I could never do with my FoodSaver. Especially like that I can vacuum seal externally to use longer size bags. Thank you for the Q&A and am looking forward to the next one.

    Great tip on using the embossed bags externally. Had no idea that was an option, can get rid of my vacuum sealer now!

      Thank you for the comment - it was the main reason I watched the video and I learned a bunch of other stuff as well. You vacuum seal with embossed side up, correct?

  • @nakita1959

    Was wondering if you have vacuum time too long with it damage machine?

  • @changgooey

    so coming down to the usv32 and usv20 would you say neither are stronger then the other and the only real difference is the size of the chamber and one stailnesss steel and one abs molded plastic

    Do you add a oxygen absorber to all dry ingredients, in Mylar bags?

    • @Avidarmor
      @Avidarmor  Před 11 měsíci

      It really comes down to personal preference, however, vacuum sealing with mylar pouches will create a permanent airtight seal, effectively eliminating the need for oxygen absorbers.

    Does it seal above the zip when I use the zipped Mylar bags?

    • @Avidarmor
      @Avidarmor  Před 2 lety

      It depends on the type of Mylar Zipper bags you have! Which ones do you have?

  • @RandallLind

    Can someone please tell me what size bag I need for 2 leg quarters and for pork streak? Can I get away with an 8x10 or do I need an 11x10 bag? I am thinking 6x10 would be good for hamburgers. This is about all I buy but, for a streak once in a while.

    • @Avidarmor
      @Avidarmor  Před 2 lety

      It all really depends on the size of the meats you are wanting to vacuum seal as well as quantity per pouch. Two large pork steaks should fit into our 11x10 pouch. The 11x10 size pouch should be best for 2 leg quarters as well. Again, for hamburgers it's going to depend on the size of the patties. The 6x10 pouch would be good for smaller, individual patties. If you are wanting to fit multiple in one pouch then I would go up in size. I hope this helps. Cheers!

      @@Avidarmor Thank you so much because trying to figure out the size of bags vs Zip lock ones seems a bit confusing.

    I bought The u s v 20
    And you're casters. But I'm very disappointed. That's they did not make it a quarter inch taller. So you could put. 40oz Mason jars
    In it
