    if you want to focus on a specific part within your pattern, if you enter the pattern edit and change the loop or end point (like you demonstrate in the video), but DONT duplicate or crop it and instead exit the menu the pattern will loop only the part you selected within the pattern edit menu. when you are done, go back to the pattern edit menu and revert the start / endpoint to what it was before.

    THIS was a huge help. I kept hitting pattern edit thinking my SP software needed fixing BUT this video taught me you just have to select the pattern without it playing FIRST then hit pattern edit! THANK SP VIDZ

    The SX mode tip is brilliant. I ran into this last night where a transitional noise was cutting off on me from one pattern to the next! Thank you for this, brother! Another great vid! Thank you for sharing, as always. Hope all is well!

    Back again... SX pattern change mode?!?... GAME CHANGER. Especially with launching clips as one shot mode. BUTTER. Haha. I don't think people have begun to scratch the surface of what sort of compositional flexibility this has so far.

    is there a way to play a sample once and not retrig? Like elektron's conditional 1st time only ?

  • @essp404
    @essp404 Před rokem +2

    number 3 is a helva good tip, a must know for play back... do you know if there are any downsides to changing it to sx or is it just changing how it reads the pattern?

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  Před rokem +1

      I don't think there are any trade-offs with that. I guess if you did want a sound to cut off that could be a problem as you can't have both at the same time. In that case I'd probably layer the sound over manually or add it later in a DAW or something

  • @remyvegamedia
    @remyvegamedia Před rokem

    Daaang that's dope. Just made the first full beat I've ever made on the SX using pattern mode (which I posted on my channel). The double/crop patterns would have been great. I had a bunch of ideas that would have been a breeeeeeze with that. Nice stuff. I didn't know sub pad trick and I could have used it haha.
    Do you use the MK2 to make full beats more or less often than your MPC?

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  Před rokem +1

      I hardly use my MPC to be honest 😭 Really digging the MK2 at the moment but I will make some time for it at some point.

    • @remyvegamedia
      @remyvegamedia Před rokem +1

      @@spvidz No shame in that! I challenged myself to get the most out of the SX while I save up and it made me realize (when considering the new MK2 features) just how compatible I am with this method. And that's even with all of the serious limitations of the SX. I'm really excited to get my hands on a MK2 l and I hope it works out 🤞🏼 I'm getting loaded up on info from your videos.

    • @remyvegamedia
      @remyvegamedia Před rokem

      @@spvidz Plus! One shot mode is practically an audio track for the MK2... And being able to record to a pad during pattern playing and end snap, that's game over for me. Plus time sig per pattern... pffttt

    Hey is it possible to use the SP404 as a loopstation (Boss RC 505) ? also conected as a slave in a midi chain with synths? thanks so much. Congratulations for the channel

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  Před rokem

      No you can't use it as a loop station really. You can make loops but not quickly and easily like a RC505

    Hi, just found your chanel and this video, I'm a complete noob when it comes to music production or beat making, but always wanted to start making my own beats. Is this a good device to start in? Do I need any other fancy equipment to use this sequencer? I just want to get started but I have so many questions😢

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  Před 5 měsíci

      This is a great device for starting. It will be a bit of a learning curve at first but it has everything you need 👍
