Really nice product, love that you can have your full van space if needed, as you say, others either take up the whole space or only leave half.
If I wanted to travel with some mountain bikes, where would the best place be for the bed boards?

Sweating on the solid boards
even though it has breathable fabric on the underside of the mattress
