The fact that, in the myths, Heracles's flaw was wrath rather than pride is somewhat amusing to me.
It's almost like God of war barley understood much of the pantheon aside from the were jerks.

Here why doesn't hercules have his lion armor, which renders him invulnerable think that would kinda fit what they had going for instead. But nope let's make him a prideful idiot instead for some reason.

Did Ellen have some sort of sickness or "episode" a few years ago? There was like an entire period where her hair was just always rough, and messy, and greasy looking.
Fun fact: The Noise was based off a mascot for Dominos Pizza from the late 80s called the Noid. It was discontinued after a mentally ill man thought the mascot was insulting him and took a pizza place hostage in 1989...
Also the 30 minutes or its free policy was leading to a lot of drivers driving recklessly and getting into wrecks.

The fact that Hércules was one of the few greek héroes who actually wasn't very arogant but he is constantly depicted as extremly arogant in mode works is hilarious
I want to see a game or movie that actually knows the source material and make him not arrogant (his flaw is wrath this is so easy to make a weakness out of have him charge the player and he hits the wall when the player dodges or sidesteps or that he exhausts himself after an especially powerful attack)

There's a great bit in My Time At Sandrock when the villain stops to taunt the people in the town square...and Elsie the farm girl sneaks up behind him and clocks him in the back of the head, knocking him out cold.
One of the other characters even points it out, saying "people sleep on the sneak up during a speech move."

It definately feels strange nowadays whenever I fire up Injustice 2 to hear his voice knowing he's no longer around.
I’d say pizza face in pizza tower also does this, as he only becomes vulnerable in phase 3 because he stops to laugh at you
Not to mention driving Peppino into such a rage that he can take out four health in one hit through bringing in all the previous bosses and taunting Peppino about it.
The idea that you do an attack and it's immediately reflected back at you, doing damage, and then you keep doing the attack over and over is so hilarious.
Noise isn’t the only pizza tower boss who has to mock you, there is also pizza head who spends so much time laughing after attacking you can erase a entire bar of his hp

I can't remember if he would've been invincible/impossible to beat otherwise, but Girahim in Skyward Sword 'spares' Link multiple times throughout the game because he refused to view him as a threat and some of the fight mechanics were centered around that too
Oh yeah, the first time you beat him he's like "Ugh, this is wasting my time" and just leaves. I suppose you never actually truly defeat him since he ends up achieving everything he set out to do and revives Demise so he can become his sword, he just didn't count on you being able to defeat Demise.
Considering how Electrocutioner's gauntlets turn Batman into a unstoppable Swiss Army knife of asskickery the fact their owner spends his "fight" just taunting Batman makes you wonder how much of a threat he'd be if he actually used them.

In the Castlevania games, Count Dracula would be invincible if he made himself completely intangible instead of leaving his head available for whichever Belmont family member he's fighting to hit him with the vampire killer whip.
In fairness to Ivy, she's not invincible with her shield up, it just takes a REALLY long time to chip down her health. Titan Joker is a better example from that game. He's totally immune to all Batman's attacks and is completely unstoppable, until he decides to preen for the news helicopter and turns his back on you once you're done fighting his goons.

I knew a version of Shao Kahn, would be on this list, He was beyond busted in MK2 and MK9, only time you could do anything remotely effectively was during his taunts

(plus if I was an extremely powerful Greek demigod famed for their fighting and a child came up with a key expecting me to fight them I might also develop a mortal weakness to whatever is lying around and just give them the win so I don't accidentally cause a Mortal Kombat fatality.)

What about Clockwerk from Sly Cooper? Despite being the final boss of the game & seeing himself as a better thief than Sly this mechanical owl can't stop taunting you which Carmalita to use her shock pistol to create holes in his armor allowing Sly to use the weapons on Carmalita's jetpack to defeat him
Wheatley is probably the embodiment of this list type.
That Syphon Filter 2 boss. Though you don't directly win because he's taunting you, but his taunting bought you some time to put him in place where he belongs

I feel Dr Shemp should be on here. He is completely invulnerable against Spyro from the front and the only time his back is facing you is when he is running in a sprint away and you can’t catch up before he turns around. That is until he does an over the top dance before attacking you and you could flame his behind before he hits.

So, I would never expect Fear and Hunger to feature on an Oxtra list for...many many reasons...BUT there is a major boss in that game who is incredibly difficult UNLESS you try talking to him instead of attacking, and with the right dialogue options the cocky bastard will get annoyed that you don't see how great and powerful he is and he will stop attacking you to instead spend his turns trying to make sure you understand how great he is.

In Ivy's defense, it is possible that she probably needed to see so that she could control her plants better, hence why she opened her flower... But her cockiness did get the best of her, as dictated by the rules of "I'm the player!"

Dying at the fact “The Noise” in Pizza Tower is a parody of the noid from the 1980’s domino’s pizza commercials that everyone hated and it’s just as weird/loud in the game as it is in the commercials
I take it titan Joker doesn't count because technically he isn't taunting Batman so much as he is ignoring him to pose for the Gotham press helicopter.

On Rocket Knight Adventures one of the later bosses actually plays ping-pong with his own weakpoint during the last phase of the boss-fight.
Ivy does actually take scratch-damage when the cover is closed, so it is theoreically possible to beat her without hitting her when she's taunting.
Irving from Resident Evil 5. The man transforms into an invulnerable giant fish monster and tries to kill Chris and Sheva. And he would've succeeded too if not for his tendency to stick his mutant fish tongue (which is also somehow his head and torso) out at the aforementioned protags while laughing manically.

Where's Gabriel from ULTRAKILL?
In your first fight with him, he consistently does two attacks, taunts, rinse and repeat.
This makes the difficulty spike of his bossfight more bearable because he refuses to end a taunt early, even if a drill is currently excavating his brain from his skull.
Ellen's off screen laughter will never lose it's infectiousness
Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2. As much as I love his many voice lines insulting you and making hilarious jokes, he does that even in his boss fight at the end of the story

Dr Robotnick and his egg viper in sonic adventure one, the egg viper is immune to sonics attacks, armed with a laser cannon and capable of destroying the platforms sonic is standing on, but instead of going for the kill he toys with you and every so often opens up his protective armour to taunt you, opening a weak point that you can attack
This made me immediately think of Red Grant in the PS2 adaptation of James Bond: From Russia With Love. Somehow he's been trained to be completely invincible unless he's flexing and performing quotes from the original movie, in which case glowing weak spots appear all over his body for Bond to shoot at.
A fact for Disco kid: In the game's Title Defense, Disco Kid realizes that him taunting you makes you punch him. So he sometimes throws in a fake one that he will block and counter attack. That would be pretty smart, if it weren't for the fact that if you hit him with a 3 star punch at that time, you will instantly KO him and win the fight

One idea of a boss that caused their demise through being petty could be Ash from titanfall 2. She didnt taunt you in the middle of battle, but had you stuck in a facility that was completely controlled by her, but because she wanted to do some "tests" (aka wasting humans that could be fighting in the war to see if some pow can survive them) on you while she could have easily got you killed (and was even comanded to by blisk), which lead to the two of you meeting at some point in the world foundry and getting herself killed. Like you wouldnt even get to fight her if she didnt want to play with you so much (not in a sexual way) and do pretty unethical tests so that she can fill out her stat board or something

Having TVs Hercules, Kevin Sorbo lend his voice for God Of War was a nice touch.
Rhulk from Destiny 2’s “Vow of the Disciple” raid definitely fits this.
He could’ve just killed us within 10 seconds of starting the raid, but he doesn’t take us seriously, strutting around the arena with his hands behind his back and just kicking anyone close enough to him aside.
By the time he realises he might actually die, he’s only a few seconds from death himself, and will take you with him if you can’t finish him off quickly enough.

Deep Cut but Jackie Chan Stuntmaster's Disco Rooftop boss. You actively couldn't fight him until you got the helicopter spotlight on him to make him dance then you could get a full combo on him. Repeat until cutscene.

Don't forget Koala Kong from Crash Bandicoot after he throws a really heavy boulder he'll start to flex and taunt you while leaving himself open for you to fling that boulder right back at him.

When I read the title I immediately thought of Shao Khan from Mortal Kombat 9. His taunting was the only way my friend and I could beat him as kids. Wait until he taunts and then uppercut, over and over again, and hope that you can both survive long enough to kill him.
Looks like batarangs knock down a sliver of Ivy's health even when her shield is up. I wonder if anyone has tried beating her that way, avoiding attacking when she opens her shield.
