- Mekedatu falls and Sangama are beautiful one day trips from Bangalore. Located at 95 kms from Bangalore this is a great place to enjoy/ play in the water, have a picnic by the river, take a coracle ride and finally take a trek to Mekadatu waterfalls.
Arkavathi river and Kaveri river meet at this place and they further flow down and are the sources of water flowing at Mekedatu, Chunchi falls etc., Carry all the essentials to tackle heat. Best part about this place is the river crossing to go to Mekedatu.

Can we go there in month of July
Check the weather forecast and go… they have coracle ride to cross the river to take you for the trek…
Rocks might be slippery on rainy days so be careful and travel safe…

To visit Mekedatu view point, how long one should trek. Can we plan with kids and senior citizens till the view point?

It is a 15 minute bus drive and then 15 minutes walk down the stairs to the gorge view point.. It is doable with kids..
Senior citizen depends on their level of fitness.. last step to the bottom is little steep.. you will have to hold the side and get down.. I did see lot of kids and seniors..
Sangam alone you can do as well.. play in water, coracle ride, have lunch at Mayura etc
