      This is the way I like setting up my shocks on my Crawlers, with neutral rebound.
      It really does give away better performance when crawling and a much better with better articulation.

    Nice upgrade Ryan, the instruction said fully extend shaft before screw the cap. When you put compression before screw the cap you have no rebound. I have 2 set of Injora 53mm and already order the 59mm shock :)

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Před rokem +5

      I set it up Just the way I like it, if you set it up with rebound it doesn't move as realistic, ends up with a higher center of gravity and ends up leaking out the oil..
      And it also has a very bouncy movement when you set the shocks up with rebound.
      If I was running my fast RC car I would have rebound on my shocks.
      As it's a crawler and all you wanted to do is not allow you to roll over and be bouncy this setup works really well give it a shot you'll see what I mean 👍

    So you want the shock pushed all the way in when you tighten the top on to it? I was putting oil in mine but wasn’t positive, I like the way you explained it so I’m gonna try it like that

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Před 8 měsíci +1

      It all depends on the way you like your truck set up!! I like having a natural realistic look so that when you're filming the vehicle is more realistic.
      I have tried many different shock setups but this seems to work the best for what I like.
      Give it a shot and let me know what you think?

  • @SinisterDeeds214
    @SinisterDeeds214 Před 7 měsíci +1

    Hard to explain in words...but I did it the way you said to. My rear end takes less pressure to push down then the front. The rear end will stays about mid way, but the front opens up all the way. And that's with the body not on. What's wrong?

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Před 7 měsíci +2

      I understand, I had lots of problems with these shocks as the springs they provide are very soft!!
      Remove the springs from your original shocks and use them on the Injora shocks, it's definitely the way to go as I tried everything and that was the only thing that worked!
      I hope that helps let me know how it goes.

  • @megaijin
    @megaijin Před 10 měsíci +1

    This video is FASCINATING to me. Especially what youre talking about @7:18. Is this neutral pressure created by capping with the shaft all the way in considered external "droop" in rccrawler talk? I think these longer shocks have actually lowered your Defenders ride height? I really want to implement this on my FMS LC80 though. Use a longer shock to retain the stock ride height but gain a few cm in articulation. I appreciate any input or corrections to my wording. I'm still new to RC cars.

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hi bro, I'm glad you find the video fascinating 😊 and I really appreciate your feedback.
      Yes depending on how you kept the shock you can have positive pressure, neutral pressure or negative pressure which ones to pull the shaft back in just like a droop setup.
      I have always run my crawler like this as I don't like it at all when it's got positive pressure.
      I don't like the look and the performance of a lifted rig!
      I always like to run my shocks with neutral pressure or negative pressure to have a more realistic suspension movement.
      You must play around with the different ways and see what suits you the best 😉
      I really appreciate you watching and commenting on the video thank you very much ✌️😉

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Před rokem +3

      Yes, it is called torque twist, most RC vehicles with locked Diffs have this problem, this is why the Traxxas trx4 is made portal axles to eliminate this problem.
      Why they didn't give portal axles on the mini version I don't know!
      For example the rock Van from FMS has portal axles and doesn't suffer with this problem.
      People come up with all kinds of ideas to try and eliminate it
      They even go as far as making a sway bar for the back axle.
      This is why many solid axle rigs run panhard bar, to try and limit the amount of torque twist generated under power!!
      I also find it very annoying and I'm trying to sort out this issue.
      I promise if I get it sorted I will let you know what I did.
      There are now quite a few manufacturers making portal axles for these little Traxxas trx4m
      And I think this will probably will be my next step at trying to eliminate the torque twist.
