Jay and Randy..... BRILLIANT together !
Jay and Randy are still providing us with a desperately needed, rare life-line to the art of great songwriting.
Jay Graydon is musical genius.
The bridge is very much Goodrum-sounding.
Yes he is, I just found it he wrote most of my favorite songs !
Agreed!
Steely Dan brought me here. Peg!!!
Much of the stuff that Jay Graydon, David Foster, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Lukather and the rest of the L.A. session from the early 80s did was catchy to all ears. They were crankin our songs left and write. These guys were taxed but I imagine they had all kinds of fun in the studios.
Easily some of the best music that exists. Jay, Randy, I love you endlessly and i cant wait for JaR 2.
Jay and I appreciate your kind words about our work!
This is definitely Jay Graydon's type of music. That chord changing, drum machine, vocal arrangment, we can feel the Airplay and West Coast influence on this song
Drum machine?
Very cool 😎 classic Jay signature groove
Wow…” Might I have some more, please sir ?”❤️
One of my favorite singer, randy goodrum. He has a unique voice as well, very cool and smooth, love it
Thank you so much, Evert
the writer and the musical geniues... for good music
This is great music! It reminds me of the late 70's music from Richard Pages' group "Pages". Jay Graydon played guitar on one or more of those albums.
So here it is, Jay Graydon 2017. This song's proof of his fabulous West Coast sound-groove-bop head. Granted, it's a more dressed down presentation, auto-tuner and all. Regardless, listen to any Graydon piece and you'e tuned in to that mythic West Coast vibe. Love it! Thanks for putting this up.
I love it. Hoping for more!
Arguably the greatest guitarist of my generation and brilliant producer. Sonic heaven.
Why didn't I hear this ever before...It has everything; clever lyrics, great groove, nice tasty lines, cool changes! I have to pass this one on....still I never heard this before...LOVE IT.
Randy Goodrum is a fellow Arkie who was friends with one of my best friends John Harkins who played bass with someone I also worked with Charlie Rich. I talked to Randy on the phone in Nashville and was very helpful!!! JaR is AWESOME IMHO!!!!
Thanks, Steve. Much appreciated.
@@RandyGoodrumSongsGlad You are still making Great Music !!! Oh I forgot when I was studying with Ted Greene I called Jay for some advice and he was very helpful, too. Keep making GREAT MUSIC GUYS!!!
I like it these guys are my favorite musicians they always lifted the level of art thank you Jay and Randy
Thank you so much, Andy. We appreciate the kind words!
You're too kind! Thanks a million.
So, so good...real music by legendary musicians who have always made great music. Can't wait for JaR 2!
I just absolutely love this what the hell. Jar is easily one of my favorites.

this is the coolest music ever. groovy verse, cool chord changes and harmonies in the chorus. love the guitar lines. there should be more of this kind of music
I'm impressed by the tight groove in the rhythm section.
Cool tune, great players
The first album is absolutely outstanding and one of my all time favourites. I am looking forward to the second installment.
you can thank those yacht rock guys for getting some of us enlightened. smooth man. lyrics keeping up with the times are kinda funny. just seems like yesterday in 1984 we were listening to the record machine.
Tune in the Yacht Rock Show podcast...on Spotifty applepodcats,Googlepodcasts,

Message from Jay Graydon to Hansum Joe:
Hey Hansum Joe,
There are 14,254 notes included in all songs, I am at note 12,847 so far.
The real reason is paying gigs (studio guitar work, etc.) supersede albums that will not generate much income as JaR is too musical for most people. Two mastering projects
1. Airplay re-master that now sounds soon much better than any previous mastering as we are doing tricks with new plugs that are amazing! Isolating vocals from the original mix is one of the tricks! The album will be available in Japan in 3 formats. Vinyl, 96k-24 bit, digital disk and downloads, and I think a 44.1=-16k CD.
2. Phil DeGruy’s album. Phil plays a 17 string guitar in chord melody style! This album will freak you out!
3. Then finally JaR!
Also nearing the release of the Famous “E” Rhodes sample program, which will change the world of Rhodes samples! More info to follow real soon! - Jay
Hello Jay, like I guess everyone here I respect you enormously and adore your music, which I first discovered via Peg all those years ago (I'm now 64). However, even though I've been an avid aor music lover all my life, I'm ashamed to say that I've only recently discovered (some of) your wider body of work, including Scene 29 (I'm proud to have found a new copy of the CD). My point is that while I understand your stated reasons for Code having been delayed, I don't think you are correct to say that "JaR is too musical for most people". In fact I think there's a huge demand still for your kind of music, if only people could easily find out that it's available: that's the real challenge in my view. I hope you can find the answer to that, finish Code quicker than you planned, and sell tons of albums, CDs and downloads to restore your faith in your listening public. My sincere best wishes to you and all your musical endeavours.
Very nice! feels like Cristopher Cross with cryptic lyrics meets Steely Dan?
Yes, the magic is back!
JAY and Randy ! When is the second JaR album coming ? I have been waiting for 6 years since you released "CODE". I have asked Kerstin in Umeå but dont get any answer so I hope you se this question and maybe you can answer.
Masterpiece...
Jay Graydon incredible song writer.
Slick as it comes!!
Any update on a release, gents? I was 18/19 and still building up my Toto and Chicago catalogue when I first heard about Jay Graydon. Quickly bought Airplay For The Planet and it became one of my favourites. Planet 3 too! Then I discovered the likes of Al Jarreau, Maxus, Bobby Caldwell etc. In this time, I’m now a married man, been to college and nearly mid 30s. We lost Bobby Caldwell recently. My favourite Peter Cetera is nearly 80 and retired now! Time on this planet is short, right? Anyway, keep up the good work and if I get to hear JaR II when I hit middle age I’ll be happy. PS Go Away by Steve Perry is an unbelievably catchy song I discovered last year that is now one of my very favourites.
Grandiosos, magníficos. Grandes músicos. Me encanta su música. Gracias por subir esta joya. Saludos
i hear manhattan transfer in the chorus....luv it !

Great Song and groove !!!!
Fabulous!!! The groove is back.

Excellent !
Brilliant! Love it.
I'm just waiting i'm just waiting! So good, youve made it again !! Hope i will see ya in Kalmar on the castle, here in Sweden.I'm not living any longer in Umeå but in this town and on our island you can play! Come ! Peace & Love x 4
Sounds like Ole Borud (the backing vocal sound & vocal that use auto-tune that actually make the songs good)
2 icon, the groove is back
In AWE....
Liking this
Beatiful hermoso
Beautyfull Harmonys
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
this song reminds me, the other Jay Grayson's song "Nothing You Can Do About It"
hi, is it normal that the album scene 29 shortcuts goes to J.A.R. shortcuts which is a rock chanel ? I'm daring to listen your music on deezer
+++ keep on, enjoying this album
Quite steelydanish.
This is bad ass. Jay, I hear you are mixing this album now. I hope your drop the bass a couple db on this track. It's completely awesome but keeps directing attention to itself cuz it's too out front. But, man, the MUSIC is totally awesome.
