You know what the best thing about Frutidealer's play is? This was FIVE GSL seasons ago, and watching this video it's like watching a very modern zerg. Look at those old replays. It's like he played them last week. Such perfect counters and strategies. This should be a Korean movie... lol

He had already experienced a full career of progaming with Brood War, and there was only so much gas left in his tank. He gave us everything he had that first season, and that was all we needed to see. He showed us that Starcraft II could be exciting, dramatic, and above all, incredibly fun.

this guy was a beast this guys performance at the gsl was flawless he dealt with every threat better than anyone could imagine. This guy even out smarted the casters who had vision and could predict almost every move of his opponents perfectly.
This is an amazing video. There are 5 SC players who I adore and model my play after. These are my mentors, my wisest of council. Gretorp, FruitDealer, Nestea, Boxer, and Foxer. These are the ones who will change how we view gaming. They have taken to a professional level, and someday I will help make it a Globally Recognized sport. This is my dream, and I will make it happen.
There's so much context to this video... Zerg being considered somewhat UP at the time, FruitDealer's amazing story behind his handle, and the fast dropout of prominent zerg titans from the tournament (there were 2 zergs left in the top 16, 1 in top 8). His power came from simply unmatched (at the time) timing and strategies; truly a dream journey that all the viewers got to join him on. Still brings a tear to my eye watching it, and the song is absolutely perfect.

I used to be one of those zerg crybabies until fruitdealer came along. He has truly inspired me to become a better player. Instead of crying imbalance I watch replays, tournaments, practice micro, use unit test maps, listen to Day9 and PsyStarcraft. Thanks to them I went from Gold to Diamond!
Zerg had such a hard time when fruitdealer won, but he found the way to play zerg at the time! Sure some games where cheese but hey I enjoyed every singel game and the finals was such a epic series, hell I think im gonna go watch it again! RESPECT

He didn't just win the GSL, he put on one of the most dominating performances that has yet to be replicated in the GSL. MVP was the closest to crushing the tournament as hard as FD did. Both are performing at a far lower level than those performances. SC2 metagame hasn't had time to settle like BW did before names like Boxer, Nada, and Savior started popping up. For now we just have NesTea, MC, and MVP. And for now that's good. But for a brief, shining moment, Fruitdealer was king.
