- Nobody else was going to make the broadway-style orchestral version of Treasure Town I always wanted, so I decided to make it happen 😎
Since the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers soundtrack was never commercially released in the US, this track won't be available on streaming services.

The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series is one of my favorite series of all time for a lot of reasons, with the music being one of them! Occasionally I'll just let the a full OST playlist of Mystery Dungeon Explorers run on shuffle so I can be reminded of all the banger tunes that are in this game. I was doing this once, when I ended up on the Treasure Town theme, and I happened to find that someone had left these lyrics written in the comments section of the CZcams upload... and I loved them! They fit the song so well. A few years later, I came back to this CZcams upload and had the thought "why hasn't anyone made a full version with these lyrics?" So, I did it myself :)
There's so much technical stuff going on in this arrangement and I don't really feel like it needs to be over-explained, so just listen and enjoy! This was my first time ever recording lead vocals for a cover (I've done choral stuff before but those don't count, haha), and it was a uniquely challenging experience. Hope you enjoy :)

This theme has always felt somewhat nostalgic for me, but something about the added lyrics and the way this cover was performed managed to make this song feel even more nostalgic - thank you for this delight of a cover!

@@Diamond_Aura Well it's because I got cyndaquil and I also chose piplup as my partner and they had like timid personalities so they couldn't stand up for themselves that much. Like failing to expose team skull about the perfect apple incident. And also chatot didn't cut me some slack about the stupid footprint minigame which is hard to do for the first time and didn't let me and loudred eat dinner which is kinda unfair for loudred.

Most people don't understand how much skill, knowledge and time is put into a production. You played all the instruments, arranged the piece, sang the lyrics, recorded everything by yourself, set up the hardware, mixed everything, mastered everything, and created the video. Each role would require a different person for a song of this quality. I admire your effort so much.

Those lyrics! What a blast from the past! I remember reading that fanfic years ago and thinking it'd be great if someone make a cover and actually sang the lyrics - I never imagined it'd ever happen. Especially not from Mr. insaneintherain himself! It's a little embarrassing that I immediately recognized that the lyrics were from Silver Resistance, but worth a little embarrassment to finally get to hear a cover as great as this.
What's even more embarrassing is how that fic still isn't finished after like 10 years. I mean seriously, who writes that slowly??

I don’t typically like lyrics getting added to instrumental songs because I feel like people put in the words they want and forget the theme of the work they’re arranging. I find it interesting that the very beginning of Treasure Town has the Temporal Tower leitmotif!
It feels like a hidden lore connection that might never be explained, but at the same time it could just be a reminder in the final dungeon of the friends in town you've made along your adventure.

This is really in tune with the mystery dungeon games (esp. darkness/time/sky). The happy energy is so gosh darn infectious, I can't help but smile and sway along. Not only because of the melody and the singing, but largely in part to the way you play and sing. Thank you so much for making this, you nailed the theme on so many levels!

PMD1 and 2 are my absolute favorite games of all time and awakened my love of video game music, and seeing something like this makes me feel like I'm experiencing all of the memories of playing them for the first time all over again. Despite never playing any of the PMD games, this still fills me with emotions
This was an unexpected surprise! Silver Resistance was one of the first fanfics I read when I was getting into the Pokémon creative community. I remember reading new chapters of it on my DSi because they were long enough to get me through car rides where I wasn't connected to the internet, and the lyrics were instantly recognizable. They remind me of a simpler time of my life, back before I had to worry about money or jobs (and when, let's be honest, I didn't care about school, which I now regret). I miss that time of my life.
The beautiful thing about music from this era is how it takes us back to those wonderful times of our lives

Pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of skies: my biggest inspiration for making music! The game had a lot of impact on me in many different way in general. And this cover really does it justice! I was super surprised that you added vocals! And did them yourself! Super cool touch!
I've been really missing the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games (i unfortunately don't own them anymore due to thievery) but this filled that craving, that little hole in my heart. I could cry.
