You most likely won’t be able to use your Echo at uni, cause it’s a different type of open WiFi in halls it can’t create a secure connection and won’t work at all

It definitely depends on the university, mine has a specific network we can connect things like games consoles and amazon echo to in halls so it wasn't a problem at all :)
