The 1st time I heard her sing this song was on her CD. The Gift. Tears came to my eyes.I was so moved. My husband just came home from emergency room. We listened to the words.Little did I know he would be taken from me 3 yrs later. After he passed and I finally trying to get my life together.I played in my car everyday.It was my way of staying connected to him..We were married 42. Years.so glad this video popped up on my YT..

I'm a huge, huge fan of Lou Reed's music and I do not care if he approves of this or not. Once you put art out in the world, it does not belong to you any more. I think this version is fantastic.

We are so blessed that Susan tried out for Britain's Got Talent and that her music is shared with us now. She has the Perfect Voice full of warmth and emotion, and makes me feel good all over. Susan is making up for all the decades that she was undiscovered. Her lovely personality is a match with her sensational singing.
She sings with her heart....the passion of knowing love flows through every note.
That's a maybe, but if you were to consider that this song is about heroin addiction, therefore, it's not about love, it's actually about an inevitable death.
I'm sorry I did not consider any of the things you stated. I listened to her passion and her longing for love and not the words of this song. I will listen again and share my thoughts.
I listened once more....I do not see where it pertains to heroin addiction or death. I'm a romantic at heart therefore I see romance in the words. My love for a person keeps me hanging on....my addiction is love and not the negative things such a harmful addiction, defeat or death. Perfect day is a positive thing. Meaning to one is not same to another. Its not to say you are wrong and I am right its to share the many facets of life. We all see differently and receive understanding of life. I pray that I reap love for it is what I sow.
I would love to meet her and hear her sing, and feel the tears roll down my face.
So why is it a perfect day, when the footage looks cold, miserable, foggy, overcast and blue tinted. haha. God I love Susan Boyle so much. She's fantastic. Everything she sings is just stunning.

This is heaven! It's so interesting to see where her career is going, toward contemporary music and more intellectually challening music, which is something I never even thought of it in the beginning. She has emerged not just having a gorgeous voice but possessing a deep understanding of the lyrics. We are hearing an artist who not only sings gorgeously but thinks and feels deeply. I think she has just started an astounding journey, as astounding as it already has been.

Of course her rendition was exquisite, it is my favorite song of hers. But I also like that the lyrics use the line "You reap what you sow" which usually means in most contexts "You'll get yours! Karma is a b!" for poor behavior, but this song honors the kind person who upholds the singer and makes the perfect day possible. Altogether lovely! 🌹
