YES YES YES. This is exactly why ive been wearing crocs for years now. I wore sandals for many years before that because shoe designers with their "arch support" soles ended up fuckign up my ankles too. Once I started walking on flat sole sandals every day, all my ankle problems went away, but i also noticed my toes were spread out properly and all my weird toe problems went away as well, from ingrown nails to painfully squished toes. But i would stub my toes sometimes in sandals and it would really suck. So i started wearing crocs when i noticed they had this actually intelligent Toe shape. and the best added bonus is that crocs just like rubber sandals can be washed constantly, you can just take them in the shower. and that has resulted in a massive reduction of bacteria in my shoes which completely ended a chronic athletes foot problem i had ever since i was a child. I havent had athletes foot is many many years now all because I can simply wash out my shoes whenever i want.
Crocs are hands down the best shoes on this planet from an objectively intelligent perspective. the only real problem fashion wise is the conspicuous holes on the top of the crocs. If the company just put a thing mesh over the top of the shoe to hide the holes in the rubber, these shoes would be perfectly acceptable to basic modern fashion. Especially if you buy the style crocs ive been buying called: Off-Court style. take a look at them they look more like normal classic shoes. I absolutely love love love them. Gimme a thin mesh on the top to hide those unsightly croc holes, and i am a customer for LIFE

"The Egyptian foot is characterized by a first toe that is larger than the others. It is the most common foot type, occurring in 50.8% of the population
The Greek foot, which is characterized by a 2ᵉ toe that is larger than the others. It is found in 40.2% of the population
The square foot or Roman foot where the first 4 toes are aligned. It is present in 9% of the population"
in all cases the croc design makes more sense because while a greek foot can fit reasonably well int eh croc design, the egyptian foot (50% of feet) dont fit as easily in to the standard shoe because the standard shoe is still pointed toward the outer edge of the foot even compared to the Greek foot. and the roman foot it makes basically no difference at all.
Therefore the croc design makes the most sense.

The impacts of Meta have and will continue to benefit ordinary people in a lot of ways. For example, the data they collect and process is used by companies to improve productivity/efficiency, by better identifying and targeting consumer needs. Data is valuable for a reason. Companies use data to increase profits and deliver more value to consumers/clients.
Have you ever considered how/why it is that when you use a search engine, you’re able to quickly find what you’re looking for? Or how your GPS app is able to give you efficient routes?
Nearly every facet of modern society is impacted by the valuable information embedded in data, directly or indirectly, as is the case with technology. Analogously, you don’t have to drive a car in order to benefit from the existence of cars, since you are a beneficiary of the infrastructure that they enable.

Yeah but your big toe is still farther from your heel than your pinky toe is from your heel. It’s okay to have space in front of your toes in your shoes, the problem is when the toebox is narrow it keeps your toes in a bad posture and can lead to bunions or hip/ankle problems. Wide toebox / foot-shaped shoes allow for better foot mobility and long term health.

I think that's 38-40 is European size and 7-8 in USA??? At least if the guide on the bottom of my shoes is to be believed) and they are not only naturally wide (thanks grandma's genes) but since I don't wear closed shoes often, they're not crammed in that odd shape people get from wearing shoes too often.

Foot shapes are different. Some people have their SECOND toe longer than the "big" toe. For those of us with short big toes, "standard" shoes with rounded, elongated or pointy toe box are actually comfier and easier to size, whereas the "anatomical" shoes with a toe box shaped for a longer big toe (asymmetric) - either make our longest second toe curl under, or feel stupidly oversized even 0.5 size up. So... it isn't about the "design flaws" - it is about finding the toe box SHAPE that is fits YOUR foot shape best :)

Best garden shoes I've ever had. The only times i won't wear them is when the job requires boots or leaving the house.

Recently at picnic someone had commented on this guys sandals he mentioned he got them in Italy and went into great detail of the designers choice of leather and attention to the stitching that was done by artisans in Tuscany & I looked down at my mold injected Crocs from China with smug satisfaction.
My one gripe is they shrink if you leave them in a hot for too long.

Just be careful, the treads are worn so you have less traction. They also are horrible overall for your feet. Comfort does not mean good for you.

@@mysmirandam.6618you might want to look at nonslip ones though. I've actually fallen wearing regular Crocs, the ground was algae and slick. I have nonslip ones and they even stick on algae. And I put yaktrax on them once lol. That might not work on every style of nonslip croc though

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and plantar fasciitis is just something I have to deal with off and on. Therefore I tend to live in crocs now. Unfortunately, most of the barefoot, running shoes or barefoot shoes have little to no cushion and that tends to be quite painful for somebody with rheumatoid or plantar fasciitis. So, Crocs are the next best thing.

Bunions that arent footware related are usually as a result of a hip issue which can be hereditary.

My podiatrist recommended crocs for recovery after surgery. They have arch support and lots of room for swelling. I still had to wear two sizes but I saved the larger ones for when the other foot gets done.

Arch support is like wearing a corset to keep your back upright. Sure, your back is technically straight, but you’re not exercising your natural ability to keep it straight. The arch in your foot is the result of a collection of muscles in your foot giving you suspension; by putting a bump under it, you’re preventing it from moving as it should, and preventing your muscles from working as they should. Like a corset, it might be necessary after a surgery, though.

@whengrapespop5728 that's great for you since you have no feet problems. You have made a lot of assuptions. I tried barefoot shoes and I still wear them in my yard abd a few other situations. If I wear them to do yard work I get foot cramps, neuroma pain, and charlie horses. Mowing is too much pushing on the ball of my foot. No amount of training my feet (decades of yoga, indoor climbing, barefoot hiking in maritime forrest, SUP, barefoot for weight training when at the climbing gym wgere uts ok other gyms prefer people wear shoes for safety) has changed that. I only wear traditional shoes for work in kitchens or concrete floors and mountous hiking since I don't have enough calouses to barefoot hike on rocky mountain trails. I wear minimal shoes on office days. The arch supports are nessisary when I get foit cramps or charlie horse. It means the muscles need a break. Even my garmin can tell by my hrv. It always says I'm poorly ready for training (which I ignore or there will never be training). My feet are training all the time.

@whengrapespop5728 I seriously hate Crocs, but they have purpose post surgery. The other foot will need to be done at some point, and Im hoping to tine it before I get neuroma in that foot. Right now, it its midfoot instability and bunion.
