Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2: Sānkhya Yog, Verse 27
जातस्य हि ध्रुवो मृत्युर्ध्रुवं जन्म मृतस्य च |
तस्मादपरिहार्येऽर्थे न त्वं शोचितुमर्हसि || 27||
jatasya hi dhruvo mrityur dhruvam janma mritasya cha
tasmad apariharye ’rthe na tvam shochitum arhasi
जो जन्म लेता है उसकी मृत्यु निश्चित है और मृत्यु के पश्चात पुनर्जन्म भी अवश्यंभावी है। अतः तुम्हें अपरिहार्य के लिए शोक नहीं करना चाहिए।
Death is certain for one who has been born, and rebirth is inevitable for one who has died. Therefore, you should not lament over the inevitable.
अंग्रेजी भाषा में एक कहावत प्रचलित है कि 'ऐज श्योर ऐज डेथ' (मृत्यु की भांति अटल)। बेंजमिन फ्रैंकलिन ने कहा है-'द ऑनली थिंग सरटेन इज डेथ एण्ड टेक्सेस' (जीवन में केवल मृत्यु और कर अपरिहार्य हैं)। जीवन में सबसे सुनिश्चित तथ्य यह है कि एक दिन हमारी मृत्यु अवश्य होगी। मनोवैज्ञानिक मृत्यु के भय को जीवन का सबसे भयानक सत्य बताते हैं। पतंजलि के योगदर्शन में भी अभिनिवेश या किसी भी स्थिति में जीवित रहने की स्वाभाविक इच्छा को लौकिक बुद्धि के लक्षण के रूप में चित्रित किया गया है लेकिन जो जन्म लेता है उसकी मृत्यु भी अनिवार्य है इसलिए जो अवश्यंभावी है, उसके लिए शोक क्यों किया जाए।
In English language, there is a popular idiom, “as sure as death.” Benjamin Franklin said: “The only things certain in life are death and taxes.” The most certain thing in life is that we will meet with death one day. Psychologists categorize the fear of death as the biggest fear in life. In Patanjali’s Yog Darśhan too, abhiniveśh, or the instinctive urge to survive at all costs, is mentioned as a trait of the material intellect. But for one who has taken birth, death is inevitable. So when something is inevitable, why lament over it?

Respected Swamiji told something that taught the mind through a very strong blow.
We should always remember death even before God and should do good works i.e. self-welfare works quickly because who knows whether we will get the next moment or not.
Do not lend, the mighty Ravana had also given this advice to Lakshman ji in his last moments when he had collapsed on the ground that do the good work first and lend to the wrong work, who knows, in the next moment your mind may change and You will be saved from sinful activities.
Whether the mind changes or not, the good work will be done first.

दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा आश्चर्य ये है कि संसार में सब की मृत्यु देखता आदमी भी खुद के बारे में नहीं सोचता की मुझे भी एक दिन जाना होगा। जिसका जन्म हुआ उसका मृत्यु निश्चित है। मानव देह क्षणभंगुर है इसलिए इसी मानव देह में ही हमे भगवत प्राप्ति का सनिष्ठ प्रयत्न करना चाहिए वरना चोराशी लाख योनियों में घूमना पड़ेगा। Thank you Swamiji for this Divine Wisdom.
