WE DID IT! 13695 Gold Record!
Today, the day has finally come. Mayn streams, many hours, many resets. I think we finally got the build that can break any past record that I have seen online, not just a personal record, but from all records. The highest record I had seen was in the higher 13k. If we got lucky at the end and survived for 24 more seconds (which a single freeze could have done, considering it allows us to walk around and destroy more candles), then this run would have most likely ended in the 15-16k range (as long as I don't remember it wrong, the final bonus 500 gold with gold bonuses is actually 1500 Gold). Regardless, it's way beyond past records, and I am proud that all the tinkering and "suffering" to figure out a viable build for Exdash has finally paid off. - Hry

yep, saving chests to pick up later, before 10 min, won't allow you to upgrade.

to keep mobs away especially at end of game I found upgraded bible + garlic to be quite good. The combined force of both constantly pushing mobs away is really strong, even at 29 mins on this map I was fairly comfortable
In theory yes, but in these runs it moves too slowly and moving will push the enemies behind the bible, eliminating their point. Also, it would require to replace an item to use Spellbinder. I can replace Heaven Sword, but replacing items gets tough

Depends on what restraints you put on the record. I've cleared well over 20k using some broken stats on the other secret character MissingNo before. I've seen normal runs without him getting to 18k using full luck and greed builds though.
@@Phlegm187 Missingno is not accepted for the leaderboard because he can have ANY stats. The highest one I know of is 20210 :)

garlic late game for me is to help knockback mobs so they never ever reach me as it does have 'reduce knockback resistance'. Only the vampire king can pass garlic and some bosses actually knocked back so hard they go off the screen.
Haha yes I agree :D I think Garlic is not *needed* to win a game, since other weapons have so much damage no one even gets close to you, but it is definitely a very nice comfort weapon and 5 weapons are still enough to nuke the enemies.

I'd recommend googling it. If it doesn't work, then keep in mind that different keyboard layouts might need different input - I know of one version where you havev to type it in as if you had a different layout. Also, a certain speed is required.
Bible, Garlic and weapon speed, you cannot be touched. Trust me.
Yea, except for weapon speed that was my old build for pushing back enemies (Scythe, Holy Wand, Vesper, Heaven Sword, Santa Water, Lightning Ring).
The issue is for these gold runs I want to minimize walking time, so candles around me respawn (which can give a ton of gold especially on high luck) - just mentioning that because a lot of walking is needed to get to 8 items, 7 is bearable because it can be done in a wave with little spawning.
The main build I use includes:
Crown, Clover, Duplicator, Candelabrador, Spinach, Stone Mask and then pick up Empty Tome, so Bracer and Spellbinder really have no fit here (and as said, picking up Stone Mask as 8th item would then set me back in gold collecting).
Given that Crown, Clover and Stone Mask are mandatory economy upgrades, I could only replace Duplicator, Candelabrador or Spinach for Spellbinder, and none of these options are good to replace. Candelabrador gives a big buff to all weapons used, but is also needed for Scythe. Duplicator gives a huge buff to Scythe (since it then covers the entire area around me), but also helps every other weapon but Garlic. And Spinach felt necessary to kill the enemies later on, which then in return give me more experience to get more gold, but also allows me to pick Hell Fire.
I thought about replacing Spinach for something else, then I could replace Hellfire for King Bible for example, but I rather wanted to try upgrading Garlic instead and see how it works.
@@DexTag garlic just doesn’t have the same punch without spinach, I’ve tried it and it really suffers, especially on the third map!
The build was good but instead of picking up magic wand you could replace it by peachone and evolving to vandalier so you will push back the last 30sec and kill alot of enemies, after upgrading to vandalier 1 slot will be freed and if you pickup laurel it combo well with garlic and you will survive even further =) Good Luck breaking the WR =D
Not a fan of Vandalier, at least when I try to go for Gold Records, simply because it consumes a ton of level ups and especially with the updates the enemies became so much harder that I am struggling to survive, Ebony Wings and Peachone would just kill me. I don't even think I could get them evolved before the game ends lol
But I got good news regarding the world record :p if you are interested, you can take a stroll through the playlist :D
I have had a run with more money than that, I think people need to stop calling their videos "world record" in this game. Quite unlikely you actually. Have a world record
There is a leaderboard for submitted runs :) and I didn't call this one a world record because I didn't know what the record was at that time. Now I know it, it's 20200.
