It was my first time seeing them live. Great, great experience (despite some audio issues, but we get this soundboard in compensation, fair deal).

no one does what they do live, the control they have over their process is unbelievable, everything is on place and evolve consistently connecting microstructure and macrostructure. Events appear in front of the listeners in such a fluid way, they do not sound forced to fit in the composition.
Their fluidity deserves endless appreciation. The scale of the sound, I don't think people always catch how vastly these spaces are- that they are covering at any one, given moment. And by scale I mean everything.. events, sonic entities (independent structures), terrestrial or alien, between the high and low.. and all of it swimming or emerging in the impossible description that is a dancing fire. It makes me feel like I'm getting glimpses into the platonic world underneath.
And then from sound to sound I'm finding it connect with ideas of biological life, biological work, from goings on within an ocean, surface to deep, or intracellular nonsense, to deep space, then at really special times, back to land, or a grounding state, before the next odyssey begins. And that one might be one in which takes you into the own vastness that is your own universality that rests in self. It can both feel like a scientific labwork--studying life under a microscope, to a literal thrill ride into these spaces, fully immersive and passing through a setting of some kind.
I mean, who is the worthy of the Nobel prize in music, if not these two brilliant conductors.. committed to the craft consistently for thirty years or so, now.
seriously tho, i think they just got hold of some alien technology
For the past 2 years I've been listening to all of their AE_LIVE stuff. This is it; Autechre and humanity has peaked musically right here and I'm beyond words to describe their music. They might not be the most influential musicians of our time but they surely are the most forward thinking musicians in the last century. Peak futurism and abstraction in music.
The way they craft their AE_LiVE stuff is beyond complex and beyond most humans imagination.
I got to disagree my friend. I think they are much more influential in today's music than you think. Thing is that not everyone knows the path of the influence. Most people think its mostly Aphex Twin, but with the risk of saying something that is not true, I believe at some point they actually influenced each other, thus electronic music, in general took a different path at the beginning of 2000's.
after one year i'd describe this set as elegant. the sounds are crafted in a meticulous and careful manner, sounding clean and crisp. Each sound has its place in this ecosystem that is built and dismantled throughout the set. Nothing is too pompous or exaggerated, everything is just right
48:08 that's right, Basscadet is back, baby
helsinki live is brilliant I think. like as depression feeling. this live more beatful...I love 2016 helsinki autechre live sound.
The melody section starting from 50:00 onwards always gets me. It's remarkably subtle and beautiful. At approximately 52:50, the composition undergoes a metamorphosis, gracefully shifting into an aggressive arpeggio beat that leaves me in absolute awe of their extraordinary skill in crafting seamless transitions from calmness to intense rhythmic expressions. As the music progresses, it transforms into a mesmerizing forest of micro and macro tonal rhythms, evoking the sensation of exploring a boundless underwater landscape where each element of sound playfully interacts with the other. The experience is truly immersive. Then, at around 57:53, the intricate soundscape collapses into a single pulsating beat with such ease and mastery, leaving me in a state of euphoric trance and a voice in my head saying 'f u c k'.
P.S. I had the honor of attending their live performance at Primavera Sound and later at Musiikkitalo last year, and it was an amazing experience. However, it was during the process of going through this file repeatedly, trying to digest such a massive body of work and contemplating its rich intricacies, that I gained an even deeper appreciation for their contemporary work.
I can't wait for the release of the remaining soundboards!
Nice to have this set without the technical issues. Kind of flattened the atmosphere having the tech people running around the stage.
Living legends. Top tier goosebumps providers.
Autechre rules! The flat-out greatest electronic ensemble alive. I have all their recordings and love every one of them equally. This Helsinki set is staggering. They simply get better and better all the time. Amazing!
I've been waiting for this tour. They've finally found the perfect blend of all their interests. This is peak Autechre.
Agree! They doing Great Recently
i was there and they blew the sound system ; D
the, *”AE_LIVE_LOS_ANGELES_151015”* show, in my opinion, is the best live show i’ve ever heard of theirs…
it *was* on streaming until they took off all their live shiz fur some reason
As always, its a pleasure to listen and feel autechre in pure darkness. I love it!
Going to see them tonight at the Barbican hope it kicks off. Fkin baaaadddaaasss!
Absolutely entranced by this one.
30:20 thats fuckimg huge
I can only hope that they release these live sets digitally, as they've done in the past.
This graphic design work for these new sets are perfect representations of the sound. From the left, order to chaos, clarity to liminality. It can represent the Earth to the intermediating atmospheres before deeper space, or the ocean surface to the deep sea, or the "music of spheres" that is ourselves before the unconscious.
The set is sonic journey across this spectrum of whichever is your liking, passing into and out from these places. It's a mirror up to everything. Perhaps only neglecting the commercial and mundane.
did not read all your words.
thank you rob&sean for letting us fly so near the Autechre's core at the end
best ending ever
The most perfect live. I am in Tallinn can you help?
many thanks for the flac download ♥♥
Did you get the flac download?
the GOATs!
True
This + the otherworldly perfect acoustics of Musiikkitalo concert hall + LSD = the stuff
This is called proper preparation for an AE gig. Top man.
Waiting in the queue at primavera, timing the peak slightly wrong-ish with the fear of not getting in, really added to it...hahah
@@tebbisimoX I was at primavera and ended up missing them... currently on my way to their Barbican show tonight to make up for it
@@thegrinderman1090 very jealous, enjoy! C u at C 2C!
@@thegrinderman1090 good you managed to get your bearings with this ahead of time! ;)
@@tebbisimoX Thanks, it was great. I quietly danced in my seat with my eyes closed for an hour while envisioning being dragged through giant metal pipes in a factory farm by spindly insect-people.
The giant robot has been released again.
Excellent recording so thanks for posting....no way I am missing them if they come over to the u.s. .......love that hook around the 36 mark (at least I think I hear it)..I know I can't get the tune out of head now so it must be...haha...they are the the only guys I know that can pull off something musically twisted like that and make it beautiful/emotional at the same time...idk, maybe I am psychotic and I am hearing shit that isn't there but I don't think that's it....haha.. 😎
Lovely !!!
beautiful
it's awesome
me too.
seen them at c2c, insane stuff
thanks for this
This was the first track in the Odeon Performance as well...
Amazing!
by the sound of it the entire set seems to be a remix of ecol4 from PLUS rather than a medley of tracks and unreleased material, very interesting
Yeah every now and then i get these hints of like really old tracks, but its like a mirage in a desert i go back and cant bladdy 'member
best track on the album, so I'm not complaining
@@tomwilliams8591 but but X4 but but marhide
@@tebbisimoX both great tracks, but ecol4 edges them out for me
@@tomwilliams8591 that is more than fair! cor the end of ecol4...

He was nice, I enjoyed his gig
35£$%? Priceless. ".............only heard a few seconds.....i'd have to hear a bit mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee---ee-e-e-e-ee-eee...."
I had to turn the treble down on this a bit lol 👴🤭
Interesting, I find this set to be not that treble heavy at all and rather warm sounding.

Just heading home from Barbican gig, I’m sorry but it was fkin shit. I’m a long time huge fan seen them 8 times but o hated it and soviet france were also crap. Big let down, nothing like the gig above , just cheap noisey slow breakbeats aka prefuse but worse , cant believe how shit it was . It’s game over for me .
too bad for you but who cares
@@jeremymartin154I do.
@@radiowaves13 I listened to the set above and a bad recording of another recent set. I know when they do a live tour they do a similar set but variations Therof, so I had high hopes , and Jesus was it a let down , it was awful wasnt it? I am 50 and been listening for years, I like their madder stuff and recent stuff, I’m not one of those nobs that want them to return to their melodic stuff , i like the weird abstract etc , but this Barbican gig was awful , and soviet france who I have loads of cds by, started off nice but dissolved into some almost Rolf Harris digeridoo new age bullshit. Horrible night, rob and Sean , if your reading , you really fucked up tonight , oh god. Absolute worst autechre gig ever, I was so looking forward to that kickass section on the last 3rd but it didn’t happen. Anyway, many die Hards will think I’m talking crap, but I’m one of them , and it was awful .
@@radiowaves13 yeah I enjoy the Helsinki and another o ne that’s uploaded on CZcams bad recording but amazing , so looking forward to soundboards , but jeez , such a disappointment, I just can’t believe they didn’t kick off , it’s a lost opportunity to really crush some skulls but it was just a dohointed mess imo , really disliked it … nevermind. I’ll get over it , roll on boards of canada new album lol
I dont know man there is a recording up and it sounds pretty rad. The music itself is fucking good. Was it the loudness/sound quality?
