- The bigger iPad Pro has always been my goto iPad tablet because of its HUGE screen. BUT now Apple has released a 13 inch iPad Air, I have to figure out if I can save myself several hundred dollars every time I cycle out my iPad!

I enjoy the way you present information - You get to the important points quickly without any hype. You give great information about the important parts of the machine and again it didn’t take a lot of time. You also sum everything up at the end without hype. This is the best information video I have seen in a long time over many topics. People should lessons from you on how to make informative videos. 👍👍👍👍👍

I am shopping both right now for work, I do a lot of project management. I don’t do any video content at all. So at the end of the day I think the IPad Air will be more than what I need for work. Thanks for saving me some money, and again I love the dog!
The more reviews I see of the new iPads, the more upset I get that the Mini wasn't included. I'm 99% sure I’m not the only one.

Good review - thanks. I went with the 11" Air. Given that I also have a 14" MacBook Pro, I didn't need a 13" iPad (either model) or the Pro (either size) - the MBP will do my creative stuff. For me, the iPad is about consent consumption, and the Air is perfectly good for that at (as you say) a fraction of the price. Also I was pleased when I found that my battered old Smart Keyboard Folio works with the new Air, but not so happy about not being to use my Gen 2 Pencil with the new Air.

Awesome seeing this video posted today as I went to see the Ipads in person. Both are fantastic, smooth, and beautiful. I was leaning towards the new Air, but after comparing the two I'm probably going with the Pro. Because I do so much watching of shows and listening of music on my ipad now, the Pro beat out the Air :/ The speakers itself is a massive difference in sound, even without the smooth smooth screen. I may still veer toward the air once I think on it more, but the Pro definitely exceeded my expectations when it came to a side by side.
Monty is such a good doggie! If you are not a content creator that uses an iPad for creating, save the cash and get the Air
If you draw on your iPad you have to get the pro. The air has too much latency. It’s very noticeable to me.

@@Lightcode yes I know no one is talking about it and I even confirmed with the Apple Store employees and a couple of them said they noticed the same thing! I haven’t heard any reviewer mention this fact which is very interesting, I guess they all rushing to pump out their reviews with out spending any time with them.
As an illustrator, I don’t notice the difference. So I sold my old iPad Pro for the new Air 13 M2

As you pointed out the other key differences in the video I think it's worth also pointing out that for the 60% difference in cost you are also getting 256GB of storage on the Pro vs 128Gb on the Air at that price difference. It's closer when you make the storage the same.

This I want to see! Refurbished M1 Pro 12.9” is pretty much the same price as M2 Air 13”
M2 12.9 Pro can be had for almost the same price as M2 Air 13, but M2 Pro has mini-LED, T-bolt, 120Hz, and other features. Really think the M2 Air 13 is a product without a real purpose other than filling a price gap for Apple. If someone said 13” 60Hz LCD panel alone, it wouldn’t sound like a sell feature at all.
There's a comparison on the apple website. Differences aren't much, the Pro has face id, more speakers and thunderbolt 4. The rest is the same. I went for the new air

So you’re telling me all I need is the IPad Air.. all I do on my iPad Pro is take notes and it replaces all paper/folders/organization in my life. Barely watch videos on it. Don’t do any “home videos”
But I love the promotion screen and increased brightness:( they do it on purpose.. idk if I can justify the pro over the air. I have a 2018 iPad Pro 11. So pretty similar to the air besides the screen. Damn.. I think you’ve shown me I can just save the money unfortunately :P

Throwing a curve ball, but as great as hardware is, it's still iPadOS... The M1 iPad 12.9" which is already complete overkill for the OS can be had for 1/3 of the price of the M4. You can literally buy a MacBook Pro M1 and a 12.9" iPad M1 and have money left over for a weekend away somewhere. The miniLED ProRes display still holds up exceptionally well, while it is noticeably heavier, the speakers are noticeable better and it's more durable, so there is that.

I still want the oled 11 inch for my art and animation but 999 is expensive but i like the comparison. I’m leaning towards the 13 inches air but I’ll miss pro motion and camera features like ar

I'm really struggling to choose between Pro and Air, even if the only differneces that matter to me are 120 Hz, OLED display and compatibility with the new magic keyboard.
But I think as a student it will be wiser to take the 13" Air
In my opinion, If you're willing to spend around $800 for the new 13 inch air, you should instead buy the last gen 11 inch Pro for around the same price. You get the same M2 chip, the same battery life as the new Air along with ProMotion, thunderbolt support, 4 speakers instead of 2, Face ID, and an extra camera. Granted I am comparing the 13 inch Air to the 11 inch last gen Pro, but I think the last gen Pro would be a better choice. It's up to you if you think 2 extra inches of screen is worth it tho

@@mightnare3237agreed man very complicated…. Let me try to give a different insight. In my experience the overpowered ipads (pro) last you at least 5 years. Spending money might seem a lot now, but you can enjoy the better ipad for 5+ years and you wont regret it. Get the air and you might regret it later, and end up buying it anyway in 2 years or so. Which in turn loses you the “ profit” on the air anyway. I know since i have the ipad pro 2018, which works like a charm still. That one i am giving to my mom now.
Adding to that. You are probably just like me a tech nerd. Which means you have to keep denying the inner voice to upgrade😂. A lot harder to do when you have the air.
With the pro, you’re paying for the screen and the thin and the M4.
Is it worth it? Depends on your usage.
You will notice the lack of promotion once you get used to it. That is a deal breaker for me.

Any chance you could verify this question I have? I got an 11” m4 iPad Pro, and after a week, the battery life has still been worse than my 2020 iPad Pro 11.” I also noticed it getting hit really fast doing mild tasks and the battery dropping a few percent in like a minute sometimes. I decided to use my power meter cable to see how much power it draws while running 3D mark wildlife extreme with 100% battery (no extra power going to the battery), and it was no joke jumping between 20w and 38w whereas my 2020 ipad was pretty much pulling a constant 15w doing the same thing. Like there’s no shot that this is how much power it should be taking right? Could you possibly run the same sort of test on your m4 ipad to see if the power draw is also this wack or more consistent like I think is should be.

I’m getting a Pro for video and photo editing, would the 11 inch 256gb model suffice? I’ll probably offload all of it after I finish with it so I feel like there’s no reason to get any higher storage space.

Just curious if anyone has compared the 2022 6th GEN iPad Pro with the new iPad Pro?
As a colorist, the iPad Pro M4 saved me a whole lot of money. I got the 13” iPad M4, that Oled and screen quality overall is really useful when traveling and coloring videos. No need to travel with my 27 inch monitor that cost me $20k. A lot of basic consumers really think it isn’t worth it, or it’s just an iPad, that just shows it isn’t made for you. Stick to the basic iPad that is $329. That’s why I don’t depend on CZcams reviewers, they themselves don’t even know how useful iPad Pro is.
They know exactly how useful it is and they very clearly say this isn’t for the average consumer all the time. Idk if you don’t really listen to their complaints or if that’s all you wanted to hear when you watched but hey you hear what you want lol

Do you notice a drastic battery drain when using the Reference Mode in the Display settings?
Battery drains on new m4 iPads because of cpu and Gpu being pc fast and oled being so bright drains battery… older models last longer on battery
Not having Promotion on the Air (at least offer 90hz) is a dealbreaker, I can wait another year or 2.

If Apple makes iPadOS with at least some of the improvements I want, the iPad Air 13 inch will be my daily driver. Otherwise I’m buying either a MacBook Air M2 or Pro M2 Pro.
Which is better for gigging musicians, iPads or Samsung Tablets?
As a gigging musician I have an iPad Pro from 2015 that I’ve used for 9 years. It’s needing replaced with a newer model now (hence why I’m watching!). Most musicians I work with have an iPad and also use the app forScore so if you want to make life easy for MDs and band mates getting some sort of iPad will be the solution. They also last crazy long like the 9 years I’ve had mine.

Gigging musician here myself! I've had my Ipad Pro 2nd gen since 2018, and would say Ipads over Samsung. Most musicians use Ipads, and airdrop is a life saver in the midst of a gig. Plus, I've seen so many friends fail with their samsung or Microsoft tablets. Ipads aren't perfect, but definitely seem to be the most user friendly.

I find it interesting people praise this guy for thoroughness that "other reviewers don't have" when he consistently gets REALLY basic stuff just wrong.

I challenge anyone to walk into an Apple Store and see if they notice a $200 difference in the screen. The iPad Pro gets brighter but not $200 brighter. I own the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the 13” iPad Air and don’t notice the difference in refresh rate when gaming or web browsing. The Pro has better speakers but I mostly use my AirPods Pro or a Bluetooth speaker for audio. With an older iPad trade in I got a big screen iPad for under $600…that’s a great value. If you are a creator, artist, or video editor and don’t mind spending the extra cash…go for the Pro version.
I compare them both side-by-side and can easily see the difference in 120 Hz (just scrolling a web page) and the extra brightness
