- Knuckles and co. have gathered round the fire to hear Tails tell them one of the most important Sonic the Hedgehog stories ever. Y’see, the tale of Sonic Prime Kaiju is a somewhat complicated one. This monster isn’t some simple Sonic exe creation post the murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. In fact, this narrative revolves around a familiar enemy of Sonic Hedgehog: Dr Eggman. But… you can call him Baron Robotnik.
Although, you shouldn’t jump to conclusions: Sonic and Eggman is a tale as old as time, yes - often devolving into Sonic VS Eggman - but there’s a lot of ground to cover before you’ll learn why the kaiju is trying to go Sonic Boom on the walled city.

The writing for Baron Eggman is genuinely brilliant. He has a sense of professionalism and articulation that you normally don't see in the franchise, yet he still has those iconic traits of ego and pride of his intelligence behind his mutated, monstrous appearance.

The Mannerisms of ‘Baron Robotnik’ is the same articulation as the Dr Robotnik in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon - akin to the voice of Long John Baldry

Baron Robotnick... Once again showing us just how damn terrifying yet calm the old man can be.
Made even worse by the fact we could see this happening as it is completely in character for him.
This feels like a genuine series rather than a piece of fan fiction, it doesn't have any business being this good!

Being overtaken and corrupted by the emerald is absolute genius. The Baron in this form is terrifying!
This Robotnik gives me the same vibes of how people describe how intimidating Satam and Archie Robotnik are, yet the appearance doesn't stop how horrifying the personality of this version is, I'm getting excited on how this explanation of what happened to Sonic is going, great job to the entire team!!
SatAM Dr. Robotnik was indeed a legitimate terror. Like, most Eggman versions are goofy villains, but there's a reason I always refer to SatAM as "Dr. Robotnik."
It's mostly because I watched it as a kid and "Eggman" as a name hadn't been popularized in the English speaking world yet. But also he deserves it. He got even worse in the Archie run of the comics. Man's a villain with a capital V.
And I thought the main villain from Owl House was disturbing with his own big ego. Baron Eggman should give Emperor Belos few lessons about creepiness and crazyness.

I've been waiting for part 4 but this is definitely not the turn I was expecting. I genuinely wish these were longer because I really want to see more.
We hear you man. It's a really hard balance for us. It's difficult for us to make longer episodes for a range of reasons that are hard to explain in a comment. Currently our approach is to make shorter episodes more regularly, but we are exploring the idea of longer episodes less often (knowing that we will get a lot of messages asking us why we're so slow lol). If you look at the credits list for this episode, over 22 people were involved. Trust me when I say we are moving as fast as we can without compromising on the quality of the production or the story we want to tell. Hopefully, more people will understand than not. @@mashed 5 minutes is definitely nothing to scoff at. It just feels like less content than usual because this story is a bit slower-paced. But that's fine, I really like the build-up so far. Keep up the great work

@@mashed It's more about where you stop. It's one thing if the next is just 5 mins of talking again (this was still good, but there is a bit more left to understand). It's different some big fight breaks out next round and this was a good place to put the pause before the reveal.

Love the old school Robotnik characterization. Gave me real strong Long John Baldry vibes with the menace Jim Cummings brought to SatAM Sonic.
Baron Eggman is an utterly terrifying yet incredibly interesting and well written Villain here. I always love villains like these. Incredible professionals yet devilishly smart and evil with an articulate array with words and tactics. The voice acting for him is amazing as well, can't wait to see what is next!

You captured the paragon that is Sonic so well here for this universe, I found myself smiling as soon as he started talking :) The characters are presented so genuinly and that goes such a long way
The audience gets that horrified, devestating atmosphere Sonic's experiencing when Eggman reveals his source of power is a cracked chaos emerald,, as Sonic said, they should've been impossible to break, and he knows all about impossible odds. The weight of the situation is larger than life, really awesome directing with all these projects!!

"That foot tap" seems to be the trigger. This version of sonic is probably the most chilvary and polite one? (Maybe rude only to enemies) Guess in the world with deaths and a kingdom to govern, Sonic needs some skills to lead people.
Thanks for these awesome series, I can't wait for part 5. Love this version of Knuckle. Everyone may think he is unfit as a leader, even himself. But he is the best protector in my book
Theory time once more...but before i address that.
Its honestly awesome that one of my theories of robotnik being the one behind the kaiju was basically right(except from the whole eggman turning into the kaiju thing). Eggman basically was driven mad by the constant failures of his thirst for conquest thanks to sonic. So he quite literally turns himself into one and use sonic as a power source...but i feel like tails is leaving out a few details on purpose...
Tails must have helped robotnik somehow. How even I cannot theorize that.
But i can now safely say that the kaiju itself is not only sonic...but the eggman himself
Its crazy to me how well this story was made and WOW the way eggman has become so intimidating and actually pretty scary is amazing

After catching up with these, I really dig the premise of a dark multiverse using the sonic franchise. It started with Tails, then Amy, now Knuckles.
If the pattern holds up, I wonder how will Tails corrupt this version of Knuckles to his side. Amy was pretty easy but kinda hard to see this version of the character fall even deeper to the dark side when Knuckle's whole motivation seems pretty righteous. Granted, he has an attitude problem but honestly, who can blame him
Maybe he pits the blame onto Sonic, for the Kaiju and amongst other things
Mashed always has the most interesting animated shows on it. Baron Robotnik was a villain I never knew I needed until now. Can't wait for the 11th!

Alright, I’m back on board. I was a little afraid after pretty much nothing happened in episode 3. This still ended a bit too short, and not in a “wanting more” kind of way, but I’m glad to see the team working with more creative ideas again! Always appreciate the hard work you all pour into your projects!

and here when he talked about his name "egg man", I thought he was gonna use himself as some kind of incubator for a monster...huh.
Technically he is since the monster looks to be able to come in and out.
I was thinking he used his body to hold the emerald. Like he didn’t break the emerald he broke his body.
Part 4 has got to be a true work of art, the animation, the story, plot twist, is so jaw dropping 🤯
Some parts of the animation were awful.

The animation quality just skyrocketed when I didn't think it needed to! Brilliant story writing! You guys have captured the personalities and voices of the characters perfectly!

Okay, now this is getting interesting. This worlds Eggman is definitely insane and a major issue. But even if he isn’t the main threat of this story and Eggman is, I still think InsaniTails is close by. For all we know, this could still be InsaniTails in disguise, giving them a story he made up in order to get Knuckles on his side. If not, then maybe he’ll show up later and kill the others alongside SOA Amy. Either way, InsaniTails is near, and we should be ready for when he comes.
BTW, I’m thinking of giving SOA Amy a different name. How does “InsaniAmy” sound? Like Insanity and Amy?

With the appearnce of Baron Robotnik, I think my theory that this was an alternate universe based off of Sonic the Comic was correct. I mean, the cameo appearance of Tekno in earlier episodes was a solid indication, but with Robotnik's pre-demonic form being identical with the AtoSH design Sonic the Comic used, that pretty much confirms what I believed.
I love how the goofy metaphor of the egg, based off Eggman's own nickname, becomes genuinely terrifying as Baron Robotnik goes on and you slowly begin to realize what exactly he did.
Amazing episode, I loved how you portrayed Eggman here. Extremely scary.
Man, it sucks that these aren’t longer, but hey, I am loving this series. The writing the voice acting is all just so beautiful and I am willing to wait for more. Keep up the great work!

Part 4 was better than the previous three parts combined thanks to how well Eggman's scene was written.

4:32 After hearing this, I have my theory on this, I think Sonic tried to do the same thing Eggman did but with the Red Chaos Emerald, either it is by force or in attempt to defeat Eggman's Monster Form (Which I think worked because the only monster attacking now is Sonic). Though since he has no control over it unlike Eggman, he can't stop himself from attacking the city over and over, but I think part of his mind on why he keeps coming back is because it is the only other place he knows before he turned.
I’ve read the Sonic comics (and watched Sonic Underground); A cracked emerald (master or regular) is major bad news, much less ingesting it. (Just ask Dingo)
The emeralds are gems for a reason, to *hold* their power and “chaotic” (heh 😋) essence. If they’re ever broken due to a power struggle then that means that they’re worn completely (like evaporating the water inside a balloon before popping it so that there’s no liquid to spill and make a mess). But cracking one open to get at what’s inside is nothing short of madness.
To put it lightly and in layman’s terms:
Cracked emerald = destroyed planet.
Cracked Master emerald = destroyed solar system (I think).
That’s why the master emerald *shatters* instead of cracks *open* whenever stressed or in danger, because those shards are its way of containing the power that would have escaped instead of it all being released.

The Sonicverse gets better and better with every new episode. Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Sonic, Eggman I love every single one of the sonic videos that have been coming out and can't wait to see the rest that are coming.
Oh, how I love a good portrayal of Eggman!… or, would “bad” be a proper compliment here, because an Eggman who knows how to be an absolutely vile bad guy is always welcome! His adaptation here in particular feels like a mixture between Lex Luthor, The Beast from Over The Garden Wall, and the Lich from Adventure Time. That has to be some sort of winning combination!
Oh I do love a good maddening analogy to prove a point. It makes the tension and delivery more impactful when it comes to fruition of why it was given. Excellent writing on that part now I’m more excited for part 5
Man, the Baron was some wonderfully animated while in the shadows. It kinda made him look out of place when he went to static and tweened when the light hit him

I really love these. Knuckles is probably one of my favourite characters in the franchises and it sucks that he only leads in Sonic Forces. I wish he was head of the command in more. He's flat-out 100% pure awesome.

Just when I thought this series couldn't get any better he surprises me with this. I never expected a prequel to this series. This is better than most serieses. Also spoiler alert if you haven't watched Amy.
I think I understand SH Tailses pattern. He's killing every sonic in the multiverse. He's not just doing it to kill them, he's doing it to prove that he's Sonic's true friend and everyone else is an impostor by making sonics friend kill him. I am assuming that there's going to be a there's something about Shadow because he appeared on the SH show. I believe the ending is going to be SH tails going to his universe and showing his sonic everyone he managed to make them kill their own sonic so he can prove he's Sonic's true best friend.

that Amy was a failure in getting Sonic's love attention, meanwhile tails gives her bogus dating advice which ends up killing sonic
this knuckles is a bad leader, tails gave him vital information that will end up tearing the team apart
all the while he is killing these world's Tails' (outright murdering the Amy one and i also assume that tails replaced the tails in the knuckles world and the real tails died with sonic trying to save him also causing the tails copter to be destroyed)
when you think about it it's really SH Tails replacing that world's Tails, killing that world's Sonic, finding the flaw in version of his friend's and expanding it to be super destructive
no sane person would love SH Amy turning her degusting on both the outside and the inside (the one from there is something wrong about Amy)
and i think that he will use this knuckles' bad leadership skills to turn him into a tyrant and an overlord, one that has all the power but none of the control over said power
No wonder Tails was so terrified to Knuckles the Truth. Eggman was already prideful at one point. This means his mind has effectively shattered under the strain a breaking open an emerald....and infusing himself with it. Eggman has very much gone off the deep end . Sonic very much wasn't prepared for the revelations. The revelations that the monster and Eggman are one and the same....and this means Sonic was planning to even the odds or tried to rip it out of him.
Only, we had to witness that either Eggman himself corrupted the emeralds with his genius, or they had already been corrupted and just gave in to the insanity having already been halfway to lunacy himself. Turns out after first cracking the shell, then by cracking the nuts inside we see that the very core isn't but welcoming.
Tails still isn't innocent in this whole situation, not by a longshot. Bystander Effect notwithstanding, Tails either tried to fix the problem and inadvertantly make things get worse, or he ran away in guilt, only to damn everyone else to the mercy of the monster that used to be their leader. Spare others to initial pain and denial immediate short term, then leave to suffer the real consequences in the even longer term...even for a kid genius that is just wrong.
But we can't take it all as substantiated fact...InsaniTails is still MIA and could very well be taking the boy's place as the blacksmith. He did this already to create "Dream Girl Amy", who's to say Knuckles couldn't be the berserker?
What a dream come true it must be to get the chance to voice a villain like Baron Robotnik.

To see the fragments of the chaos emerald in Eggmans eye sockets is cool and creepy at the same time. I even don´t wanna know how painful this exchange was. But we all know that Eggmann is totally mad and he would do anything to destroy Sonic. Even destroy himself and/or sell his soul to the devil.

Ok so the lore is getting deeper in this universe maybe the emeralds where containing something worst maybe a variant of chaos? and eggman some how cracked it and consume it but that somehow made him sick, maybe sonic thought killing him was going to free him but only left the kaiju without a host and then...Wait....TAILS WANTS KNUCKLES TO KILL IT SO IT CAN POSSES HIM THAT'S WHY?!!!
Good lord this is some deep lore. Eggman pulled what his movie counterpart pulled which I believe is freaking awesome ngl. Well, instead of absorbing the Master Emerald he literally put it inside himself which is even scarier.
I can confirm. This episode had such greatness, that it has various sakuga moments. Really darn well animated, bravo.

Since every "there's something about" brings forward a dark version of a character to (probably) join forces with secret tails, there will probably be a "there's something about eggman" where he is a legit good guy and will try to chase after secret tails to stop him.
That Robotnik was superb! I always have had Satam Robotnik to be the most menacing, but this replaced my previous 2nd to him. Again well done on these episodes and Robotnik's moment
