I've seen videos of people beating Urizen after beating the game and having upgrades, but not yet one of someone taking him out right from new game. I have clocked 3 hours in steam for the game, all runs of this so, took a bit!
The absolute hardest part is that 2nd stage where he starts pairing up lasers and fireballs together. But finding out that the Aerial combo with the revved up sword does more damage than the on the ground combo really was key, because there's on doing a 3rd stage with him, it's gotta be two.
Also just, there's no way but to pelt him in that second stage, to make any real ground. He does too many combos to really meaningfully get up close and hammer on him like I did in stage 1. It's like 3 minutes of constant swinging to get it to break so also conceding to just gunning him down was the thing that did it.

I was thinking surely the game devs would have Urizen stand up and kick you out by force but nope, they decided they'd let you skip the whole game if you were skilled enough. What a ballsy design move.

So, if Nero had beat Urizen in the beginning, Dante wouldn’t have become stronger, he wouldn’t have known who his father was, V would probably die after awhile unless he finds a way to replenish his demonic energy, Nero wouldn’t get his arm back or unlock his potential. And the tree would still be there! That and Dante would probably have to keep a secret that Nero killed his dad.
Yea with the way the game goes normally, you are right this may be a bad ending :p
Maybe Nero will get the yamato because it is hidden in the crystal that protects urizen, give it to Dante and he will cut the tree and seal the portal using yamato
I don't think V will die cause he only gets weak half way cause he fights demons he only have a limit

V would either die, or maybe turn into weaker Vergil.

I find it funny how the crystal protecting him takes 17 years to destroy but Urizen himself folds like a house of cards when his shield is down

Btw air taunt is a good alternative for a double jump since it gives you extra height and maintains momentum from the actual jump, plus it adds to style. I personally used it to dodge the laser beams when I’m doing an air combo.

Just tried this today (deleted save) after not playing the game since it came out. Took me about 5 hours to figure it out and do it. VERY satisfying. Super intense. Annoying when you lose, though! Good job with this.
So if you do this first time around, the credits will just spoil the game. Wow

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP I JUST BEAT IT NO UPGRADES ON SON OF SPARDA RIGHT AFTER I BEAT IT ON DH ,WITH NO CONTINUES BONUS , now I can play Dante must die my first playthrough, it was easy if u can beat him on DH u can do it on S.O.S it took me three phases for DH too I was shitting bricks

I think this is the first and only game I have ever seen where you can kill the main enemy at the start of the game and it doesnt give you some pre rendered cutscene where you loose anyway just to continue the story.
I thought the game didn't let you beat him even if you were winning, I thought it just times out or plays your losing cutscene after Urizen takes a certain amount of damage.
Nope, turns out I'm just trash...

I tried it, farthest i got is at my 6th tries when i destroyed the crystal 2 times and urizen is at 30-40%, 3rd crystal was at 50% and i choked
I tried to beat it, And I failed, I was so close to breaking his shield

How do u do half life,I can only get him down to 10% after two phases exactly how do I use l2 and my air combo during the damage phase
The air strikes come faster than the ground strikes so it really is just trying to get timing right on each air strike to also have ot charged. Try mashing that charge button as your swinging. But that's really it just getting lucky with how many of your hits come out charged

I actually could not make it past the enemies to even get to Urizen on Son of Sparda!

@@user-du7it1xn2g nah they do the thing alot of games to where they put straight up end game enemies in the beginning areas. I couldnt out damage the healing happening on the big guy they put in

Son of Sparda enemies have x4 the health and damage of human mode enemies and they also put end game enemies early on
Standing at the edge of the arena instead of going into his face yields approximately the same dps but is way easier in my opinion. Also in case anyone wants to unlock the SoS difficulty, defeating Urizen on Human is enough. Breaking the crystal takes the same time and his attacks deal the same damage, I think, but it will be easy to kill Urizen in 2 crystal breaks without doing perfect ignition timings
Just got the game and have been trying to go fight in his face will try this and see what happens
@@ShapoopyAnother advice I can give you is to watch out for the time-slowing orb cast. When it starts, jump up. If timed right, the orb flies to some point in the air where you have been while jumping. It ends up being stuck in the ceiling and cant harm you
I just got the game and beat the prologue boss before continuing the story.
Tips first phase get in his face and jump attack and either air taunt when the purple arrows fall or dash out the way
Once the first crystal is broken
Back as far away as you can in the middle area, and air taunt over the slow orb as well as the two purple sweeping beams and shoot the crystal down.
If you get close second phase he’ll occasionally spam the two blue and two red orbs together which sucks.
Easiest strat to beat this guy no upgrades.
I actually did this first time playing and thought the game was bugged or something 😂

They could have added a cinematic where V becomes Vergil again and fight him like the true final boss, but this time dante kicks nero out of this and u play dante vs vergil where u need to kill vergil if u wanna defeat the game.

You unlock the ability to play through at the next difficulty. So if you wanted your first run of the game to be like son of sparda level or something, you could work up to it by doing this

I did this using vergil after i've beaten the game on devil hunter. I came back with revenge on my mind, i wasn't gonna let that fox news chair bastard kick my ass for a second time in the prologue.
Long story short, i whooped his ass with vergil and got said ending.

I literally nearly ended up doing this boss in the prologue, in my first DMC series game playthrough. It might be because i played dark souls games before and it wasn’t too hard for me to dodge and learn the attacks.
