for someone that's been on her own mental health journey for so long and has had a small outburst yesterday and I felt a little defeated because I thought I was doing so well, hearing your mini talk about consistency with journaling and zooming out to see the big picture on how far we've come, really reassured me a little! thank you Jenn, for your comforting words.

That's amazing that you bought your parents a house. My boyfriend always grew up very poor and it was his dream to buy his mum and house and a few years ago he did. She's elderly and he doesn't have to worry about her anymore, it's great.

ok but that sage green lounge set is everything đ€© what i do to ârememberâ what i read is write notes in the actual book. it makes my reading experience physical and dynamic in how i interact with the text and making connections in the plot and overall story. but i know you primarily read online but even there you can still write notes! still have a hard time remembering things tho đ
I do the same thing in my physical books! Iâll highlight passages lol. Iâm not sure if you can do that with ebooks and definitely not with audio books which I think she may also useđ€

That repetition routine is what I'm doing in therapy and It's incredible how you can change your mind. It's really great but as you said it takes time.

As a child of immigrants (and an immigrant myself) I find that we all share similar feelings about the indebtedness we feel towards our parents. For me itâs reverence and gratitude for all the sacrifices my parents have made and continue to make. Our lived immigrant experiences often transcend cultures and Iâve found that so many sons and daughters have the desire to gift their parents with things they only ever dreamt about.
