The next part of the Nightmare HD project is here! Harbingers was a bit trickier to work on compared to Nightmare's Base Tape, as the game rules section of the video didn't mesh well with the original AI Model I used.
So my recording was upscaled in two separate chunks: Once for the instructions, and another time for the main game! There was also quite a bit more editing done to ensure the quality was solid all around.
However, you'll notice some tape tracking during the game rules. One of the hardest parts of ripping these tapes is hoping they come out in as high of quality as possible, and while there are a few hitches, the rest of the tape is perfect.
Also, this was my first time working on audio restoration! The lack of feedback noise and Mono to Stereo conversion with a few enhancements make it a treat for your ears as well as your eyes.
Thanks again for being patient with this project! Each tape takes quite a while, and I'm super excited every time I get to upload one.

Baron Samedi was actually planned to be the next upscaling project after the first one, but my tape was in a rough state and needed to be replaced, so Harbingers was done next.
Thankfully, that replacement is in!

All these years I've been wondering how they did the Gatekeeper's glowing eyes effect. I don't think it's CG as it wasn't advanced enough back in 1995.

I actually picked up a pair when I was making The Gate Cleaner, but didn't get a chance to use them.
@@TheVideoBoardGameNightmare Well...its not quite black light, if you ar a doctor who fan they used the same thing on an episode called Curse of Fenric to get EXACTLY the same effect of people's eyes glowing green. It's a very special type of light and you actually need a special type of paint to go withit. If you wanna know more, look in to the Silver Nemesis episode's documentary as they used it again in that to make some stuff glow bright white.

Awesome work! Are you gonna do the booster tapes in 4k?
As much as I'd love to, it would require getting my hands on the tapes, as I do all of the VHS recording myself when making these.
Since the tapes are super expensive and collectable, it's very unlikely. However, I won't say never!

@@anthonyharding4380 I won't say no to someone sending them in, but I'd also want to send them back once I'm done recording.
With some of these tapes being highly sought out collectables by Nightmare fans, it wouldn't feel right holding onto them.

In the description for the Baron Samedi video, I talked about how Nightmare II would be the last tape for a while until I get my hands on new ones. I actually had to buy a whole new tape just for Baron, since my old one was a tracking Nightmare itself.
I'll be sure to post an update for if/when I get them!
